TOOTH-BE-GONE
Oral health is one of the most overlooked aspects of the human body, because we don’t see it as a priority. What most people don’t understand is that oral health is not an isolated part of the human body. In fact, it affects one’s overall well-being in several ways, including proper nutrition, communication skills and social interaction. These are the DON’TS one should consider:
These habits could cost you your teeth!!
1. SMOKING
Smoking can cause cancer of the mouth, lips and tongue. It can also stain your teeth and cause them to fall out.
2. CHEWING ON YOUR PENCIL
It may cause your teeth to chip or crack.
3. SNACKING CONSTANTLY
Food will stick to your teeth, exacerbating stains and decay.
4. CHEWING ON ICE
It can irritate the soft tissue in your teeth and cause them to chip and crack.
5. PLAYING SPORTS WITHOUT A MOUTH GUARD
A guard will protect your teeth from being chipped or knocked out during high-contact sports.
6. GRINDING YOUR TEETH
Bruxism, also known as teeth grinding, wears teeth down over time. If you know you suffer from bruxism, make sure you’re wearing a special mouthguard to keep from grinding your teeth in your sleep.
7. DRINKING TOO MANY SODAS
Constantly bathing your teeth in sugar contained in soda is not good for your teeth at all. Soda contains a lot of sugar and acid, which causes color stains and erodes the teeth.
STOP THESE HABITS WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!
Remembering these guidelines will lead you to a healthier and happier smile.
Prevention is always better than a cure, which is why you should take action and give more time to care for your dental health.
save your teeth, save your smile 👅
