I'm like if Vany did back tuck 0.2 could have been enough to win but also she could have flopped and not medalled at all so silver is good and even without it if the dance elements were better it might have been enough with her landings being the best today too.

So just glad she finally got her well deserved and much awaited Olympic floor medal!!!

2012 Raisman FX had no dance, but at least had a theme, was cohesive with the music and could get people along, Carey is just awkward to watch. Nothing fits. And the worse is that they had 4 years to fix this and they didn’t even care. It looks even worse than a big oob.

Also not knowing how to dance or not enjoying it it is not an excuse for not delivering, nobody likes beam but still you have to compete on it. Dance and expression is still an important part of artistic gymnastics - as tumbling is too, the reason why I don’t like Nina’s or most Dutch team’s floors. 

Picking the right music and actual choreo, even if it is just posture, posture, posture, is super important. In fact, the right floor music can help a lot in the performance aspect, if not, look at Aly Raisman. 

The perfect example of a gymnast with amazing tumbling but that could not even dance a little bit, and still selled a routine like almost none, is Myzdrikova. 

For that you have to care about it first and then show it to the gymnasts you coach. USAG and Brian Carey had almost four years to change Jade’s lack of expression, and still, they did not do anything about it. No progression in a whole Olympic cycle. But, well, why should they do anything if they stil keep winning…

It's not d or e score. It is whoever had the higher individual vault score. So SJW won because 14.833 was his best vault score, while Denis best vault score was 14.8.

I thought all the Tokyo podiums would be cursed at this rate, but this is so acceptable and my heart is happy.

We have:

- Jade Carey being more decorated than Sinner and saying a big screw you to Tom Forster since he brought Sinner to compete against her and she redeemed herself after yesterday

- Vanessa Ferrari FINALLY winning an Olympic medal after four olympics and two 4th place finishes at 30 years old

- A tie between two of the most wholesome gymnasts ever that they won't break because screw tiebreakers, Angelina Melnikova and Mai Murakami

Being 4th at two Olympics in a row with one being due to stupid tiebreakers is absolutely shitty and she absolutely killed it today.

She's not the cleanest, but she showed up so props to her
