I think Dick would probably take the mantle more to heart knowing it was the retired mantle of his mentor.

DC AU Question: What would happen if the New 52 had re-introduced the "Bruce being the first Robin" concept back in 2011 starting with a brief flashback scene in an issue of the second volume of "Batman" showing Bruce, in his own Robin outfit, punching out a burglar and continuing the flashback from there? Note: The concept was showed in the comic book series, "The Untold Legend of the Batman".

I remember that issue. I would imagine that Bruce would continue as Robin up until adulthood when he realized he needed to be scarier to the criminals and then dawn the Batman persona.
