The travling wave takes place in the cochlea, it moves like an ocean wave and carries different frequencies to specific locations in the inner ear. Women still earn between 80-90% of men’s wages in the same role w/in the same organization. The glass celling is as thick as ever. I'm over it; women are the best. Realistically they should be getting paid 150% more based on the quality and quantity of the work I have seen produced by ladies in my professional career. @biancavalenti is a powerful women who knows what she wants. She might not get it herself but future little shredders will have more opportunities and options thanks to her hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. Christmas brings out ♥️, lets us see what is important, and decided what we will change in the upcoming year. Glad I can be ur tag team buddy and can't wait to fight the good fight into 2017! Bone growth is controlled by two different cell types. Cells called osteoclasts resorb bone tissues whereas cells called osteoblasts deposit new bone tissue. This is osteoblast growing onto a titanium implant. This process is called osseointegration and leads to fusion between the bone and titanium implant at an atomic level. We use this phenomena in audiology with osseointegrated hearing devices. They are the most effective method of delivering pure, undistorted, acoustic information to the inner ear when the hearing loss is conductive in nature.

We Just Got the First Real Evidence of a Strange Quantum Distortion in Empty Space

For the first time, astronomers have observed a strange quantum phenomenon in action, where a neutron star is surrounded by a magnetic field so intense, it’s given rise to a region in empty space where matter spontaneously pops in and out of existence.

Called vacuum birefringence, this bizarre phenomenon was first predicted back in the 1930s, but had only ever been observed on the atomic scale. Now scientists have finally seen it occur in nature, and it goes against everything that Newton and Einstein had mapped out.

“This is a macroscopic manifestation of quantum field,” Jeremy Heyl from the University of British Columbia in Canada, who was not involved in the research, told Science. “It’s manifest on the scale of a neutron star.”

How likely are you to develop exostoses if you are a life time avid surfer??? VERY! This graph show that 90% of surfers who have been surfing for twenty years have exostoses. The colder the water the more likely you were to develop more and larger exostoses. The condition is not limited to surfing and can occur in any activity with cold, wet, windy conditions such as windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, jet skiing, kitesurfing, and diving.
