can’t wait to get to this part in dracula daily
finally started the fault in our heartbeats or whatever
okay for real though if everyone has to turn to the same side at dinner how does anyone talk to each other. I turn to my left but that guy has turned to his left so I talk at his bald spot like hello sir how is life under a hat
It’s actually really funny to me that in unexpected heiress they use the biltmore estate—literally the most famous home of those wealthy American business types—as their reference image for the home of the destitute English aristocrats
also lol @ reusing the uggo faces from d&d when everyone immediately pegged unexpected heiress as a d&d retread!
im making an assumption
RIP Sean Kelly. Can’t wait to catch your killers, Molly “the mick” Flanagan and Paddy O’Éireann
Ok the fact that I wasn’t even that far off is killing me. That’s it girls I’m quitting this game and joining the IRA

can’t wait for pb to announce 9 different single-romance books about being a billionaire’s sex slave since they’re apparently banking on being indistinguishable from Chapters as their new business model
yes. Thick round lips. That’s exactly what’s sexy
coming out of retirement to ask why the fuck does every Hot Guy in choices have to call you some obnoxious childish nickname
I haven’t logged into the app in like a month and uhhhhh lol that’s seriously the nightbound cover art now. For real
some dr ethan ramsey icons for u and ur friends!!!! :)
catching up on d&d2 (and replaying 1 with a diff LI) I feel like pb has a real secondary female character problem
in d&d you have a bunch of other young women making their debuts. I’m sure I’m not naming everybody, but all of the women (except briar, I guess) are either outright antagonistic (bowman and holloway) or semi-antagonistic and depicted as dull/silly (sutton.) among the older women there’s a little more variety (I guess because they can’t be your direct rivals;) you’ve got your mother (conveniently dead,) your grandmother (semi-antagonistic,) and countess henrietta (antagonistic, petty, and cruel.)
with the men there’s a range--marlcaster is similarly dull/silly, westonly is a lecher (whose disability is played entirely for laughs,) chambers & konevi are friendly and have their own subplot, woods isn’t present much but is friendly and involved with briar. even if you include romantic options (who I would consider primary characters) you have 1 potential female friend to 3 male ones.
this isn’t limited to d&d (it’s just what I’m playing now.) in pretty much every book (caveat: I haven’t played freshman/HSS/lovehacks,) female characters are much more likely to be written as petty, antagonistic, or rivals of the MC and to have their causes/interests depicted as silly or misguided. every other actress in RCD is an enemy or rival; for most of TRR the only women you meet are your rivals or the queen, who dislikes you. other people have written about how female romantic options, especially ones depicted as nonwhite, are more likely to be rivals/to not be present for big parts of the story/to be cruel to MC or to have pb allow MC to be cruel to them; it’s just extra depressing when you extend that to the rest of the cast and realize it’s true of basically every female character. obviously women & girls can be mean or petty or cruel! but when that’s the default characterization it’s really tiring.
idk what the precise breakdown of choices player demographics looks like but judging on online fandom it’s like 90% women & girls, with an age range from preteen to middle age+. the writers have this platform that reaches a lot of people (and often do good, interesting, fairly complex work in a highly-limited format; I don’t think they’re untalented or bad people or whatever, or I wouldn’t be here) and decided that what girls & women want to read about/simulate is girls & women being silly, petty, and cruelÂ
I’m kind of dreading RCD3 because it’s another “planning your wedding” book and so far all of those have been pretty bad imo… like who wants to bet it’s like “20 diamonds to pick your cake! 20 diamonds to pick the awning! 20 diamonds or your dress is toilet paper! 20 diamonds or you’re marrying your elderly neighbor for some reason!” and almost nothing happens in between 15 chapters of shopping
All I wanna do is slut it up and be mean to famous people... in real life also tbh
