Unmasked at Midnight || Joshua & Sutton
As the clock struck quarter to midnight, the small brunette slipped away from the busy atmosphere of the main ballroom and into the hotel restroom. She was slightly intoxicated, but still functional. The teens in the ballroom were out of control and it was nice to get away from the drunken atmosphere. Getting a quiet moment to herself, she hastily undid the mask and ran her hands just underneath her eyes. She didn’t even bother caring if people walked into the bathroom and saw who she was at this point. The night was close to ending; and there was also the fact that most of the girls were too under the influence to even comprehend her mask was gone. After fixing herself and making herself as presentable as she could, the girl tied the mask back over her eyes, and grabbed the suit jacket she had forgotten to give back to the boy she was off to go meet.
As she made her way to the the rooftop, her mind still reeled. She wasn’t sure who Joshua actually was. She hadn’t even met that many people in her short time at Monarch, so narrowing it down shouldn’t have been this hard. He just didn’t seem to be, or act like any of the seniors she knew. It wouldn’t be surprising if he was a complete stranger, but then again, he did say he knew, or had a clue as to who she was. The cold brisk air whisked her brown locks into the air, Sutton shook her head, and pushed the hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. Her previous thoughts leaving her mind quickly, as she scanned the roof for the masked boy.
She walked over to the spot where they had previously been, and her eyes caught glimpse of the moon. Even without the building and city lights, the moon was probably bright enough to be the main source of light, tonight. She heard the door open and she spun around, a small smile tugging on her lips. “Well, hey there, stranger.” She said, holding out his suit jacket, “I forgot to give this back to you.”
