Well, brava!
There's no more punch
[Ace smiled into the sudden kiss. Slowly, his hand moved up from the other’s hand to his chin. He tilted he other’s face for better access as he deepened the kiss. The clock struck 12.]
[James pulled back suddenly with the sound of the clock and blinked a few times] I've got to go. I'm helping a friend home. I'll see you around, Ace
Good night [James exited the room swiftly]
Okay. Thank you.

Maybe. I wouldn’t be surprised if we weren’t.. I know quite a few people at Monarch.
…Thanks. Can’t tell if you’re being sincere but I’ll just go with it. Hope you’re having a good time too.
No reason for me to be insincere.
Good guess. I don’t have anything to offer as a prize though.
Just knowing I'm right is enough for me
Careful Toes
With a shake of his head he replied, “I really don’t think it’s that easy. I’d rather stay a stranger, to be honest. Nothing against you of course.. and I’d like it very much if you didn’t try to figure out who I am.”
Lance shrugged, stopping halfway through as he realized he’d been doing a lot of that lately, “Thanks again for the dance lessons. I hope I didn’t seriously injure your toes forever..” He looked down at his watch and realized just how late it was getting, “I’ve got to go and find my crap before this ends, it’s getting kind of late, but I guess I’ll see you around.. but not like this, no.” He smiled, amused as he repeated the other boy’s words from earlier. He leaned up and gave him a peck on the cheek because what the hell, it wasn’t like anybody really knew who he was anyway and being nervous about it just seemed silly for the moment. He pulled away from James and started to head back inside, “Catch ya later, alligator.” He waved and turned back around the head inside, realizing he should probably start rounding up his missing items so he could get out of here and start pondering his entire life.
James blinked a few times, a little disappointed in the answer, "I understand," he said softly.
He nodded a response, unsure if he could trust his voice. He smiled wearily at Lance before he disappeared back inside with a wave, "Good night. Lance," he said, more to the closing door than the teen it was meant for. James turned back around to look out across the street and wondered why he felt the way he did right now. Confused. Disappointed. Overwhelmed.
He sat down on the sidewalk and rested his head on his fists. He stayed there for a minute or two before sighing heavily and returned back inside for the conclusion of the dance.
I’m sorry.
Oh but my car..
Honestly, there is nothing to worry about.
You can get it in the morning. Now let's get you home

Damn it. I hate mysteries. Well then, my fair friend, if you don’t want to reveal yourself how about a kiss? To, end the party on a high note?
Just a kiss [James leaned in]
Who might I be? You’re running out of time.
I have faith in my guess
There's no more punch
I’d definitely say that a lot more people talked to me since they didn’t know they didn’t know me.
That's a definite upside to masked events
Would you? I don’t wanna be a bother, you’re probably tired.
I am, but it's better to be safe than sorry
I'll call a cab
There's no more punch
A little too much to drink I take it? You know you’re one of the last people I see wearing their mask. Will you be taking it off at midnight?
I think not. I'll be taking this little secret to the grave.
After I help a friend back to her dorm, that is.
There's no more punch
Well, that seems to be the pattern so far.
Yeah, that bit’s been fun. I mean I already don’t know anybody, but it’s been pretty funny to watch everyone be in that scenario.
Good chance to meet people since they have no inhibitions now.
Mint chocolate is nice.
I’ve been attending for a few months.
It's quite nice.
Hmm. I think I know who you are.
I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to the bathroom, let alone find water. But this is the second time tonight, I should be okay.
Here, I'll help you at least get back to the campus dorms.
There's no more punch
I’ve been having a spectacular night, sadly it’s coming to an end. Upsetting I’ll be going home alone though.
That's good to hear. I've had a blast tonight. Though I know I'll feel it in the morning
Careful Toes
Lance nodded harshly, “Good. I’m not going to tell you who I am, but I kind of think you already know sense I definitely think I know you. Sucks I still have no idea who you are though, even though you seem so familiar.. but I think I like it better that way. Just, don’t tell anybody about— what just happened, yeah?”
He gave James a tiny smile and let go of his hand to give him a hug, wrapping his arms tightly around James’ torso. He was still confused and lost and every part of him screamed to run away and hide from this problem he absolutely didn’t want to address, but he also knew he wouldn’t get anywhere doing that. Like he had said to someone earlier that night, it’s all about taking leaps of faith in life or you’ll never get anywhere. He pulled back and took a deep breath, “I’ll see you around I guess.. or—well, probably not.”
"Your secret's safe with me, stranger," James replied, a smirk curling his lips. He wondered idly who Lance could be, of all the people he new.
James wrapped his arms around the other boy, resting his face in the crook of Lance's neck. This felt just as good as any kiss James has ever given or received. It felt comfortable and right. Which was strange given the situation.
"Not looking like this," James sighed softly. He looked to the ground for a moment then back up at Lance, "If we ever find out who one another are," he paused, not sure how to finish, "don't be a stranger, okay?" He emphasized the point with a gentle squeeze on Lance's hands, along with a small smile.
