raises hand. I would gaf abt object nature being play…

1. the most obvious example: they will compete for anything, no matter the emotional circumstances or the circumstances around them, and no matter what the end goal (or prize) is. along with a prize, object shows have one key factor: challenges. games. they’ll go crazy if they are given some kind of game or contest to play with for hours — the “competing against other objects” factor also creates a sense of excitement and urgency for a lot of them. they like having games they can play and a goal they can fight for, even if the goal in question is literal garbage

2. objects are very social. they live in medium to large groups on average and tend to stick to open terrain (plains & grasslands) where they are able to have free roam. when we see objects NOT competing, or in an established state before a competition takes place, they spend most of their time playing games and hanging out. theres plenty of objects who are of the violent and antagonistic archetype, but id like to argue that violence is just their idea of play, like animals with chew toys

ADDING ONTO THE THING ABOUT THEIR SOCIALITY AND HABITAT: objects become very, VERY stressed when they are isolated fairly quickly. they also become stressed when they don’t have open space, which is why the various tlcs and exit have such an effect on them

in tpot the world is in disrepair and the objects are still competing. in bfdia they are fighting for cardboard. since the first season all the way up to the latest they spent their time before the hosts showed up just. playing and getting into situations. they think and act like people (albiet with the cartoon logic upscaled, which is ALSO sometjing i have headcanons about) but give them a game to play or perhaps just a ball and theyll go insane for it
