Get There By Flower

Baby had been following pink flowers for just under a year. Sometimes months would go by and she wouldnt see any. But she persisted, insisting her journey though life would be dotted with pink flowers to guide her. The pink flowers did indeed have a secret trail. They lead her to the tops of waterfalls. To hole in the wall dive bars, and more than one strangers wedding. Each time the wedding cake had been lemon flavor, and she vowed if she ever got married hers would be lemon as well because of the divine drunken memories the taste now held for her.

Her family thought she was crazy. Her mother often called in hysterics, "You cant find a life by following flowers, theres no rhyme or reason its madness and you'll never make anything of yourself!"

Baby didnt mind. No ones life had much reason anyway. People made half baked choices all the time. People moved and married and started their lives over and over without much thought. And she followed pink flowers. She saw beautiful silences and held the wind in her hands and made love by the sea. She saw the world and she lived the way she wanted to. As she grew old she was fondly spoken of by all who knew her as soft and free and blushing pink.
