Crossroad reshoot

EXT. WHITE SPACE

As GREYSMITH skids to a stop - he looks around. He is in an empty space - nothing but the White Space all around him. He gets up - then shouts “HELLO! IS ANYBODY HERE? HELLO! WHERE AM I? HELLOOO”! He sees something in the distance - he runs to it as he calls out to anybody - “HELLO! HELLO”! As he runs, the sound coming off his feet slush. As he continues to run, an almost imperceptible flurry of a snowstorm falls, the only distinct vision is that we see him through a filter of falling snow and the shade coming off his footprints. And the surrounding shades in pure white above the ground, and as for the ground it is shaded in an almost indistinct greyish white of snow against a blizzard in the horizon. “HELLO! WHERE AM I?”, as his voice is filtered through the sound of the wind in a blizzard. He continues to run, “THE SPIRIT OF GOD! THE HOLY SPIRIT! THE SPIRIT OF TIME AND SPACE! ARE YOU HERE?”. He then slides to a fall, as he gets up, a break in the uniform whiteness of the surrounding, a blur of a shaded white blips a distance away. “THE SPIRIT OF GOD, is that YOU?” Then another blip to the far left. “THE HOLY SPIRIT, IS THAT YOU?”, Another blip comes to the right. He gets up, then runs toward the blip, “THE SPIRIT OF TIME AND SPACE, is that you”, then a final blip at the centre of his direction. GREYSMITH RUNS to her, the barely perceivable greyish white shadow gets closer in his chase. As he gets there - he sees the thing he is running towards is a dove standing on the white snow. He stops in bewilderment - then crouches down to reach for it. Then it flies towards him multiplying into hundreds of doves. He leans back shielding with his arms. Then composes and looks at the flock of doves flying around and above him. He is astonished by the endless flocks of doves as his gaze follows them in the white sky. As they fly forward in front of him - suddenly they steer their flight towards him. GREYSMITH tries to block with his arms shielding him - but their great speed thrust towards him in a singularity as they all enter him. GREYSMITH cries - stretching out his arms to the sides as his bosom swallows all of the doves. As the last dove is consumed by him - he falls back - tumbling counter clockwise into the bottomless White Space beneath him. After a few moments - he is able to compose and stop his spiraling down. He looks up - and sees a person in the halo light above standing. She fixes his gaze for several seconds - until two angels fly down with their arms stretching towards him. He reaches up with both arms and they take hold of him - carrying him up above to the person in the halo light. They are YESHMIR and BRIGHTEL

THE SPIRIT OF TIME AND SPACE

I watched as the Sun first rose on ye

A moment of gazing into the stars

YESHMIR and BRIGHTEL fly faster into the halo light of THE SPIRIT OF TIME AND SPACE - ‘til the light becomes so bright that it blinds GREYSMITH. From GREYSMITH'S point of view - he turns his head back from that bright light - and then turns forward again to see. But when he turns back it turns to the eye from outer space. And now we are in the Stellar-sea Stingray before the eye. GREYSMITH suddenly pulls the yoke to the side - and then the Stellar-sea Stingray turns away from the eye and spirals into Titan

MADISON

BRACE FOR IMPACT!

As the Stellar-sea Stingray comes into Titan’s atmosphere - MADISON engages the landing propulsions. As they continue to fall - MADISON manages to slow down the ship. As it nears the ground - the Stellar-sea Stingray comes to a hard landing at the bottom of the cliff. The hatch opens - and the Geisha comes out with guns ready - as they look on guard for hostility. Then suddenly - the Geisha starts moving backwards uncoming and unsliding from the hill. Then GREYSMITH is pulled backward - as he tries to resist. He is climbing up the hill though he is running forward in the opposite direction. They get to the top of the hill at a cliff. And then start to engage in a shootout as time continues to travel backward. GREYSMITH is running across shooting at enemies across from them. He runs forward and skids to MADISON to unhelp her onto her feet - then runs across spraying bullets in the direction of the enemies. As he runs - an enemy unlaunches a grenade near him and he is blown in the direction of the cliff’s rock wall. As he slides - he skids to a stop in the White Space at the feet of YESHMIR

As YESHMIR PICKS GREYSMITH up - We see THE SPIRIT OF TIME AND SPACE standing beside YESHMIR and BRIGHTEL

It is daytime on the Moon - as the Earth hovers above the horizon. A stardestroyer and its fleet fly by out in space. It is a time of postworld warfare - and chaos and strife are throughout the Solar System

Rosie and a nine year old GREYSMITH drive up to the spacefield where RETSON is flying off from. As they drive into the lot - they stop when they see GREYSMITH’S father walking up to his starship. GREYSMITH RUNS up to him and hugs fiercely and sobs. He then pulls back and steps back. And as his father gets up on the step - he stops

I’ll be back - I promised. Grey - take my hand. Grey - please - take my hand. Grey - take my hand

GREYSMITH’S father pauses his expression and only shows a little bit of sadness through. GREYSMITH FROWNS and turns his side and sobs into Rosie’s shoulder. As RETSON climbs up the starfighter - GREYSMITH with tears in his eyes races up shouting

ADOLESCENT GREYSMITH

Papa - take my hand. Papa - please take my hand. Papa - take my hand

RETSON cheers up with a comforting smile on his face - climbs down from the starfighter. Then he runs down to hug his son goodbye. They both cry - but they smile through the tears. Then after a heartfelt moment between father and son - RETSON CLIMBS back onto the starfighter. As RETSON flicks several switches in front of him

From behind him - the co-pilot takes off his helmet

This heat is killing me

Yeah - yeah - dad… Mockingbird at ready

It’s time to make it count

RETSON PUSHES the accelerators and thrusters as the starfighter launches into the air - flying away into the black sky through the thin atmosphere

It is daytime on the Moon, as the Earth hovers above the horizon. A stardestroyer and its fleet fly by out in space. It is a time of postworld warfare, and chaos and strife are throughout the Solar System.

Rosie and a nine year old Greysmith drive up to the spacefield where Retson is flying off from. As they drive into the lot, they stop when they see Greysmith’s father walking up to his starship. Greysmith runs up to him and hugs fiercely and sobs. He then pulls back and steps back. And as his father gets up on the step, he stops, “I’ll be back, I promised. Grey, take my hand. Grey, please, take my hand. Grey, take my hand,” his father pauses his expression and only shows a little bit of sadness through. Greysmith frowns and turns his side and sobs into Rosie’s shoulder. As Retson climbs up the starfighter, Greysmith with tears in his eyes races up shouting, “Papa, take my hand. Papa, please take my hand. Papa, take my hand”. Retson cheers up with a comforting smile on his face, climbs down from the starfighter. Then he runs down to hug his son goodbye. They both cry, but they smile through the tears. Then after a heartfelt moment between father and son, Retson climbs back onto the starfighter. As Retson flicks several switches in front of him, he states, “Vertigo at ready”. From behind him, the co-pilot takes off his helmet, “This heat is killing me”, says an adult Greysmith. “Are you ready, son?”, asks Retson. “Yeah, yeah, dad… Mockingbird at ready”. “It’s time to make it count”, says Retson.

EXT. MOUNT FUJI - DAY

The morning dawn is rising in the horizon near Mount Fuji. The mountain and the surrounding area are dark though there is a bright sunrise just above the horizon. In the distance - white clouds blanket the foot of the mountain just below our altitude

Three years have passed by since the events that brought the Sayonara Geisha to circle the Solar System. And today is a spring day though on the mountain at this time it is still briskly chilly. GREYSMITH has come back to Nihon - and he is climbing the sacred mountain as the morning light is dawning in the horizon. As he ascends the slope of the mountain - he comes across an old man struggling to make it up even with a hiking stick. As GREYSMITH passes him

GREYSMITH

Hurry. You’re gonna miss the sunrise at the summit

OLD MAN

I’m old - son. What is your name?

GREYSMITH

OLD MAN

Akihito Heisei is who I am

Then GREYSMITH looks to AKIHITO HEISEI’S back and sees he is carrying a live chicken in a small cage. An astonishing look comes to GREYSMITH’S face

Oh - let me help you carry that

AKIHITO HEISEI

Sure. It has become quite straining carrying this chicken up the mountain

As GREYSMITH puts the cage behind his back - there is a pause - then they continue their climb. After several moments - they finally make it to the summit. When they reach the summit in the early morning - they find that they are the only two there. They find a spot on the summit to sit and witness the sunrise. As they settle for a spot - they face the rising Sun. GREYSMITH hands over the cage back to AKIHITO HEISEI

Why the chicken

Well - there is a local myth here that says if you bring a chicken and release it at the summit of Mount Fuji - and if the chicken flies down and turns into a white dove - your prayer will be granted by God

GREYSMITH

Oh - well that is quite a myth

AKIHITO HEISEI

Well - what brought you here to Mount Fuji? It seems like fate has brought us together here

GREYSMITH

I’ve come here to pray to God as well

AKIHITO HEISEI

Then it is God - not fate that brought us together

GREYSMITH

What are you going to pray for - if I can ask

AKIHITO HEISEI

I’m old - son. I’ve come to pray that I can soar up into heaven and be with God

There is a somber expression on GREYSMITH’S face as he hears this. There is a slight pause - then AKIHITO HEISEI offers him the chicken

AKIHITO HEISEI

Here - you should take the chicken. It is you that brought it up to the summit after all

GREYSMITH

No - I can’t

AKIHITO HEISEI

Please do

GREYSMITH then looks at the chicken - then chuckles. He takes it and places it in front of him as he continues to laugh

Here - take this

As GREYSMITH hands over the Time Medallion to the old man. AKIHITO HEISEI takes the Time Medallion and wonders what it is. Then GREYSMITH focuses on the chicken. He opens the cage and grabs it. As he gets up - AKIHITO HEISEI gazes up. The chicken crows and flaps its wings as GREYSMITH holds it in front of him. GREYSMITH then closes his eyes and releases the chicken. GREYSMITH and the old man start laughing as the chicken descends down the mountain. And in its descend - the chicken extends out its wings behind the halo of the sunrise. And the moment after that - the blinding sunray shines a light so bright that the chicken looks as if it has turn into a white dove as it flies down the mountain. GREYSMITH LOOKS at it as it flies away. He then TURNS to the old man sitting beside him. AKIHITO HEISEI is no longer there. GREYSMITH SMILES and TURNS back to look at the sunrise alone

EXT. CLIFFTOP. TITAN - DAY

The twilight is now welcoming the morning light. The view of Jupiter is gone now as Titan faces the rising Sun. The early morning shines a soft light on the carnage that took place here on the cliff

Dead bodies scatter the dirt of the hilltop. MADISON CLIMBS back onto the cliff and is followed by KINGSTON. They pace towards CHASEWICKER’S body lying on the ground. MADISON CROUCHES down - while KINGSTON STANDS there mourning for his friend. MADISON CLOSES CHASEWICKER’S eyes so that he may rest. Then she SEES - in his jacket pocket - holds the red rose that she has given him back when they were in Namie - Nihon. She TAKES it out from the jacket pocket - andPLACES it on his chest as she BRINGS his hands to grasp it

MADISON

If the wild rose field blows a whistle/ A blooming wild rose will grow/ Among a bruce of thistles

Then she gathers a fist of dirt off the ground and places it on CHASEWICKER

MADISON (CON’T)

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust

As she OPENS her palm as the dirt pours onto CHASEWICKER’S chest

Then KINGSTON CROUCHES down - and also GRABS a fistful of dirt and sprinkle it around CHASEWICKER. Then a pillar of light pierces through the grey sky above the cliff. The soft light illuminates the Geisha as they mourn. Then CHASEWICKER’S body fades ‘til it disappears into thin air - only leaving his cape still on the ground. Then tears well up in MADISON’s and KINGSTON's eyes - as she struts her gaze up into the pillar of light - KINGSTON GATHERS CHASEWICKER’S cape then follows his gaze as well. Then they STAND up and LOOK towards the rising Sun

EXT. CANYON. TITAN - DAY

Down in the canyon - THE RED BISHOP is STANDING at the colony starship’s hatch - as the freed slaves gather in. Then she LOOKS toward MADISON up above the clifftop - who NODS in her direction. THE RED BISHOP NODS and SMILES - acknowledging each other. Then THE RED BISHOP TURNS to the gathering freed slaves

Come in. Go find rest in the hull

Nearby - stands THE WHITE CASTLE - who is directing the large flow of their people

THE WHITE CASTLE

Go find safety on the ship. God has willed your deliverance. Go in - you’re safe now

Farther away - THE GREEN ROOK - APPROACHES the freedom fighters. Our band of heroes - ZECHARIAH - EZIAS - EZEKIEL - SAMSON - and EZRA and others are CARRYING the injured and wounded in THE GREEN ROOK’s direction. She GOES and helps them carry their people to the ship

EXT. OUTER SPACE ABOVE THE AMERICAS

The Moon is hanging above the Earth. Blackness everywhere as the Sun shines against the starship carrier. There is a star out in the distance that is glistening. It is the only one bright enough to see as we face the Sun

GREYSMITH LOOKS to JOCESEL as PEGASUS continues to gallups. As the artillery continues to bombard her - she LIFTS her sword up in front of her and closes her eyes. Then in the next moment - she TRANSFORMS into a string of stars like when we were first introduced to her. As she and PEGASUS fade away

GREYSMITH

JOCESEL - NOOO!

Then the string of stars fall crashing into the starship carrier. The starship carrier explodes - as the Geisha propel away from it. Though they are far from the explosion - the edge of the explosive shockwave pushes them 'til they tumble uncontrollably away

REMINGTON

Greysmith - she's gone… But we're not. We're still alive - so let's get our act together

CLAYSINGER

Pegasus is also gone and we don't have our ship

SKYLAR

No one is around. We're stranded here in Outer Space

GREYSMITH resigns into his utter shock and devastating sadness

GREYSMITH

She came in as shooting stars and left the same way. She didn't have to die

REMINGTON

Greysmith - get it together

CLAYSINGER

My brother is right. She's an angel. She didn't die. She was called back to heaven

SKYLAR

But we're here. We're still here. We need to find a way to get back to Earth

CLAYSINGER

Greysmith - Greysmith - are you there?

GREYSMITH

Yeah - I'm here. My father gave me a model of the red Tesla roadster that was sent to space in 2018. It's still in space

REMINGTON

What? Are we gonna drive it back to Earth?

GREYSMITH

Exactly. We can steer it with the propulsion jet pack to enter the atmosphere. Once we're on our way - we turn off the jet packs to conserve. The car will shield us from reentry. Once we're near the ground we get out and propel upwards against gravity

SKYLAR

Not saying I like it - but it's a plan

CLAYSINGER

Where is this car?

GREYSMITH

It should be above South America

SKYLAR

And where exactly are we?

REMINGTON

We're above the Atlantic Ocean - near the Gulf of Mexico

GREYSMITH

Steer south towards South America and then turn off your propulsion. Follow me

As GREYSMITH leads - the Geisha follow. They fly passed Central America and towards Colombia. After sometime

REMINGTON

I think I see the roadster. It's not red but it's definitely the car

CLAYSINGER

The paints are stripped after over fifty years in Outer Space

GREYSMITH

Steer towards it

The Geisha propel towards the bare aluminium roadster. After several moments - they reach it

GREYSMITH (CON’T)

Remington and Claysinger - take the back. Skylar - you take the left door. I'll take the right

We have to steer it towards Earth. Once we get it in position and falling towards Earth - we conserve the propulsion for the landing

The Geisha get in position and push the roadster towards Earth

If it doesn’t get us killed first

SKYLAR pulls the Starman out and throws him into space

The roadster slowly descends. As it comes nearer to the Earth - it picks up speed

GREYSMITH

Crouch down away from the heat!

As the roadster passes the stratosphere - the bottom of the car burns up. The roadster rattles toward the Earth. As it enters the atmosphere - the wind breaks off the left windshield sending it against SKYLAR's jet pack. As it hits - the jet pack punctures - sending SKYLAR out of the car

EXT. INNER ATMOSPHERE ABOVE COLOMBIA - DAY

SKYLAR

AHH - HELP!

As she falls

GREYSMITH (TO CLAYSINGER AND REMINGTON)

I’M GOING FOR SKYLAR. MAKE SURE YOU LAND

GREYSMITH (CONT’D TO SKYLAR)

THROW OFF YOUR JET PACK. I’M COMING FOR YOU

SKYLAR takes off the jet pack though she still somersault down towards the ground. CLAYSINGER and REMINGTON exit the roadster and skydive towards the ground. GREYSMITH DIVES toward SKYLAR - as she situates herself from the spiralling. As GREYSMITH nears - he REACHES out for SKYLAR

Skylar - take my hand

As he is just inches away from her

GREYSMITH (CONT’D)

God damnit!

As he STRUGGLES TO REACH her. Finally he does and he GRABS onto her with a bear hug. Twenty meters away from them - REMINGTON and CLAYSINGER TURN the propulsion on. Above three hundred meters from the ground now - then with SKYLAR in his arms he activates the propulsion. The roadster crashes into the ground ahead of them. As the Geisha come to the ground - with a thrust - they land

Starship carrier rescue

EXT. THE OUTER SPACE AROUND THE EARTH AND MOON

The space around the Earth is the blackness of space - stretching out from the edges of the planet. In its vicinity - is the pale grey Moon orbiting. No stars - just blackness all around

The Martian Liberation Front’s starship carrier comes into view as it exits hypersonic speed around the space of the Earth and Moon. On its deck are cargo ships that are docked in their bay. Michael Macer climbs out from a hatch in the deck floor - holding an AK-47 as Martian terrorists with machine guns in their hands follow

MACER

Bring them out

REMINGTON is pulled out from the hatch in zero gravity - follow by CLAYSINGER and SKYLAR. All three have their hands and feet tie in chains and shackles

MACER (CON’T)

We are ready for our mission. Bind them up to the cargo ships

Our captured Geisha are each brought by two terrorists in spacesuits propelling them up to the top of neighbouring cargo ships. They are then binded to crosses that are fixed to the cargo ships’ roofs

Out in the distance - arrives JOCESEL and GREYSMITH riding on Pegasus

GREYSMITH

Look - an aircraft carrier out in front. It is the Martian Liberation Front

JOCESEL

Grab your weapon. I’m charging ahead

She flies off of Pegasus with her sword in front of her. GREYSMITH positions his M4 forward in front of him as he charges in with Pegasus

As Macer sees them charging in

MACER

WHAT THE FUCK! FIRE AT THEM! NOW!

As he shoots his AK-47 their way

The terrorists on deck fires in GREYSMITH’s and JOCESEL’s directions. JOCESEL deflects with her sword - sending bullets back at the terrorists. Terrorists fall down and die as they float away in space. Meanwhile - GREYSMITH sends a barrage of bullets their way - while Pegasus dodges from the incoming shots being fired. They come charging in

MACER

SHOOT THE ARTILLERY! AND EXECUTE THE ATTACKS! GO NOW!

A flurry of bullets come into JOCESEL’s and GREYSMITH’s way. Pegasus gallups - as GREYSMITH tries to stay on. Then a dozen cargo ships launch into space. GREYSMITH sees SKYLAR - REMINGTON - and CLAYSINGER are fixed to the cargo ships that are being launched

GREYSMITH

Rescue Remington and Claysinger! I’M GOING FOR SKYLAR!

The three cargo ships carrying REMINGTON - CLAYSINGER - and SKYLAR fly towards stratoscrapers. The two carrying REMINGTON and CLAYSINGER are in the direction going toward the Earth - while the one carrying SKYLAR is heading for the Hyundai Stratoscraper on the Moon. The other cargo ships are in the directions of important military and civilian institutions

JOCESEL charges after the two cargo ships carrying REMINGTON and CLAYSINGER. As the cargo ships enter the Earth’s atmosphere - they split up. JOCESEL dives toward one of them - but is shot down by artillery coming from the starship carrier. She falls down into the atmosphere of the Earth. Meanwhile - GREYSMITH races toward SKYLAR - but the cargo ship’s vicinity of the Moon does not allow him enough time to intercept. GREYSMITH dives down with Pegasus - but the cargo ship closes the distance between it and the Hyundai Stratoscraper. As the cargo ship comes crashing into the Hyundai stratoscraper

SKYLAR (TO HERSELF)

Help me God

GREYSMITH

NOOO!

As the cargo ship crashes into the building. The cargo ships that are carrying REMINGTON and CLAYSINGER crash into the Earth’s stratoscrapers - as other cargo ships race away to their targets

Then GREYSMITH pulls the Time Medallion from Pegasus’s neck

GREYSMITH

Time and space reverse in their dilation!

As he circles the space in front of him with the Time Medallion counter-clockwise. Then - as time dilates back into its previous space - the cargo ships uncrash and the remaining cargo ships reverse their trajectories. JOCESEL becomes uninjured as she flies back in time. GREYSMITH on Pegasus rides back towards the starship carrier. As everything goes back in time

GREYSMITH (TO HIMSELF)

Time is reversing

The cargo ships return back to the starship carrier - while JOCESEL and GREYSMITH fly back to their original space above it

GREYSMITH (CON’T TO HIMSELF)

Now flow like the river flows forward

As he motions clockwise the Time Medallion in front of him. Then Pegasus gallups - and GREYSMITH falls off. GREYSMITH then propels toward SKYLAR. JOCESEL dives for Pegasus. Then as GREYSMITH gets to SKYLAR - a terrorist charges at him - but is shot dead. The terrorist floats his way - while GREYSMITH shoots off the chain and shackles off of SKYLAR

Go free Remington. I’ll go for Claysinger

SKYLAR kicks forward for the dead terrorist propulsion jet pack and AK-47s. GREYSMITH and SKYLAR shoot their way to CLAYSINGER and REMINGTON. Terrorists in the Geisha’s directions die in a blitzkrieg of bullets. As they get to REMINGTON and CLAYSINGER - they shoot off their chains and shackles. Once freed - CLAYSINGER and REMINGTON dive for propulsion jet packs. Then as they get them on - the Geisha propels away from the starship carrier
