He presses the breath out of Enlighter’s chest like a cat holding down squirming prey. “Tell me, Enlighter: if you disdain me as much as you seem to, why did you stop me?”

Enlighter sneers harder to cover the way his lips purse. Half of the truth rises to his lips: “I want an interview.”

Nice leans down over him. Early evening shadows swallow his face; wild, animal-eyes reflect a feral blue as he stares down at Enlighter. His grip clenches tight, loosens, clenches again—spasmodic, crushing. Enlighter, feeling very much like a butterfly pinned to a board, struggles to breathe. “And why would I give you that? Why shouldn’t I just kill you now and finish what I came here to do?”

Sketched and painted with Procreate’s classic library flat brush, set to taper and fade at the ends as much as possible.

The whole thing was painted as a thumbnail first on a page of sketches:

I decided I liked that composition best since u can see both of their faces, then cursed myself out for drawing it so tiny, so I blew it up and drew it again at larger scale:

All colors are applied with overlays. Honestly I prefer to paint, but that takes SO long and I wanted to get this out before the next chapter is up. 🥲

more of my voltron galra ocs 

a couple weeks ago I was going through my drafts and found this shitpost I wrote right after Voltron season 2 dropped that said, “who is marmora and why do they have a shape-shifting blade”. it was a joke when i first wrote it, but I started seriously thinking abt it cos we really don’t know much at all about Galran culture, yanno? So there were two options I saw: 

a) Marmora was a martyr in early rebellions against Zarkon’s rule, because at no point in our history has an empire been made without dissenting parties, and why would it be any different in space? or  b) Marmora was a mythical Galran hero who fought against some kind of merciless, powerful adversary, because otherwise the rebels against Zarkon wouldn’t have named themselves after Marmora’s blade 

 I went with the second option because I’m a slut for mythology, so.
