The moth I based it off of originally is the box tree moth. As always, the symbolism means something to the piece.

Riptide - Past, Present, Future

Was going back through my older art (like, july 2024 old) and forgot I never posted this anywhere. (In my defense, I have a defense-)

Did a concept 3 part series of the albatrio weapons and comparing the three to past/present/future archetypes.

Past - Chip

Present - Jay

Future - Gillion

Take it as you interpret it.

I also attempted a mimic at what their handwriting could be. It was just a fun project to do.

It's also been on my wall every time I've moved. With my poor cut job let's not talk about it.

didn't expect so many to like my silly project ⭐ finally printed, so here's a full in-depth explanation of my (crazy) art piece!

⚠️ Spoilers for Gillion and his backstory

Weight of the Prophecy - Gillion Tidestrider Relief Concept

Project Prompt Summary: Research 1500s pieces and use a composition of one. Be mindful of empty space.

Composition base:

The Archangel Michael Weighing a Soul by Lucas Cranach the Elder

Archangel Michael: The highest ranking angel and spiritual warrior; a protector against evil and protects humanity and heaven.

Based primarily on the two gods (Lunadeyis and Aster) and the prophecy.

> The notion that Gillion, the chosen one, would decide the fate of the world.

Just like the Elders, I focused on the last part of it for this piece. Weighing the fates and innocence of land and sea.

Scales of Justice

> Sea is higher, a visual that it is in favor and more important

> The land scale is tipped with the single bird, both evidence being judged, but is also in its favor. It's biased. Take that as you will.

With that, he stands on land while being surrounded by the sea.

For land, I did an eagle to represent the Ferin's and when Gillion attacked Jayson before being exiled as well.

The head is a moon for born of moonlight, but also of sea. The armor is inspired by Gillion's design.

Background: Constellations

There are two constellations, one of land, and one of sea, and both equating to a sense of power:

> Cetus, aka the whale or sea monster, sent to devour Andromeda but was later slain by Perseus

> Then Chimera, truth has many faces, be weary of unrealistic illusions and your own strength

(there is something so ironic with the sea side of my block being uneven and having dips so the ink wouldn't show up clearly 😭 bro i STRUGGLED my overtime in the studio will not go unnoticed)
