My sister was the narrative designer of this game and, for being myself the sensitive reader, I highly recommend you to play this video game.
If you love Visual Novels, Japanese folklore and culture and cosy game, this one is clearly made for you hehe.
(the drawing was drawn in December 2025. It's one of my favorite characters called Vin. They are disabled, with chronic pain and they are also queer. I clearly love them, they are so realistic I clearly think we have a lot in common.)

This was so, so gratifying to watch- you get it. You get the intended play experience. Being wrong as much as possible, except when presenting the goat which is always right. You got the million points achievement in my heart.

I always want to meet a game where it's at, and, honestly, it really wasn't difficult when the game is simply this fun. The writing was a blast from start to finish, the art was phenomenal, and the characters were IMMEDIATELY incredibly endearing from the first few moments of the game.
You and the rest of the team did a phenomenal job, and I'm so happy I got the chance to explore it for myself.
If you haven't already, go check out the game for yourself HERE! It's worth it!!! Game's DELIGHTFUL, and there were plenty of dialogue options that we missed for you to explore even if you caught the stream! Support indie creators so they can buy stuff like Twitch Subscriptions to their favourite catgirl vtuber voice actress idol streamer named joy kirbs (it's a heavily contested niche. probably. it could be anyone)

I noticed that the ZATO vn subreddit has grown to 2.5k users posting art, memes, etc. Do you ever visit the subreddit, what do you think about their theories and interpretations?
I check the sub on occasion, it's nice! Though I'll be honest, I've stopped keeping up with theories a few months ago haha. I enjoy reading people's thoughts, but there's way too much for me to keep up with... It's still interesting how differently people can interpret what I believed to be a pretty straightforward story. Art is a wonderful thing!
There are many, many things I could call ZATO. Funny, heartbreaking, visually gorgeous, charming...
"Straightforward" is not one of them.
The core story is relatively simple, I think, but that ending and the core themes have really stuck with me. I love the game. I cried a dozen times, and I nearly blew out my voice on stream playing it all out, but, I still sit here staring at the ceiling trying to figure out what exactly it all means to me.
Then again, maybe that ambiguity is the point. Maybe not everything needs a straightforward answer. Maybe it does make perfect sense and isn't ambiguous at all and I'm missing something. I don't know. I think myself in circles trying to figure it out sometimes and it makes me feel a little stupid, ahaha~
