In Shen-Twin fics, why is it always Shen Jiu protecting Shen Yuan? I mean, I love that dynamic. Absolutely adore it.

But also, I raise you Shen Yuan shielding his twin from any interaction that could trigger him.

Shen Yuan seeing how much Shen Jiu hates being touched, so he becomes the tactile twin who is just always there, throwing an arm around the shoulders of their martial siblings. Shen Yuan who notices his A-Jiu's patience is wearing thin and draws all the attention to himself. Shen Yuan who happily greets any visitors and takes them on a walk around their peak so that Shen Jiu can remain in the bamboo house undisturbed. Shen Yuan who is so dramatic that nobody sees the slight shake of Shen Jiu's hands after something reminded him of their past.

Give me Shen Yuan who uses his inner hater to innocently and eloquently dismantle the confidence of anyone who dared insult his A-Jiu. Without blinking or tarnishing his own reputation.

Give me Shen Jiu whose hackles smooth with a sigh as soon as he's alone with Shen Yuan, and Shen Yuan whose smile falls once he doesn't have to perform anymore.

Give me Shen Yuan pleading with Shen Jiu to tell people what has really been going on with him, to explain the trips into town or anything really. Give me Shen Jiu saying he's tired and doesn't want to talk about it, and Shen Yuan staying silent as he plots revenge on his twin's behalf.

Give me Shen Yuan being the twin nobody gets past, the one commonly acknowledged as "the hurdle to get through if you want to talk to his twin" and doing it in a way that nobody notices until they're already back in their own home.

Just, a dynamic where Shen Jiu is refusing to heal even a little bit and is just so tried and scared of interactions because of it, and Shen Yuan being the sword and shield that makes life bearable. Not because that's just who he is, but because that's what his brother needs.

Here’s the thing. Refusing to accept a compliment can be mildly insulting to the person you’re refusing the compliment from.

It’s like you don’t believe them or don’t respect their opinion basically.

I know, I also have self esteem so low that accepting a compliment feels physically painful but basically calling the person who’s complimenting you a liar doesn’t help anybody including yourself.

In my experience, it’s good to work towards accepting them in small steps.

Try “That’s kind of you to say that.” (It is kind, no matter whether they mean it or not.) And then slowly move to “I’m glad to hear it” (hearing nice things is always nice), then to “I’m glad you think that way.” (Acknowledge that they mean it without thinking about whether it’s factually true or not) - and at some point you can genuinely arrive at just accepting it with a simple “Aw, thanks!” and mean it. At least with people you trust.

Sometimes I’m still stuck at “That’s nice of you to say, but right now I’m not sure you mean that/that’s true.” But I still get to be happy about what they said, so I answer with “That’s nice makes me happy.” And then I get to truly accept it when I’m feeling better again.

FanFic idea:

Shen Jiu, a 13 year old slave, watches the last petals fall off the weeping cherry tree in the Qiu manor. Having just survived an especially brutal beating, he makes a wish on that tree. He doesn’t wish for anything big, just to be loved. By someone, anyone, as long as they truly love him as he is. Just one person who cares enough to fight for him.

The wish comes true.

The next day, a boy who looks almost like Shen Jiu just shows up. He has the same face, but his hair is a dark, reddish brown, like the tree’s bark rather than Shen Jiu's true black hair. His eyes aren’t black either but the fresh green of healthy leaves.

The boy calls him “didi” and himself “Shen Yuan”, and he smiles, and when Shen Jiu gets grabbed, his eyes go cold.

The whole manor is aflame and every single resident dead by the end of that day.

Shen Yuan, who insists on being called “A-Yuan”, “Yuan-ge” or “gege”, drags Shen Jiu to the prestigious Cang Qiong Mountain Sect. He declares the two of them will become cultivators.

They do. They enter the selection ceremony and get picked by Qing Jing Peak.

Qi-ge is there. He remembers Shen Yuan. Everyone at Qiu manor also remembered Shen Yuan, but that’s impossible because Shen Yuan didn’t exist!

But they make it work. Shen Jiu gets to know his new gege and even learns to love him. Gege is protective and likes making things for Shen Jiu. Gege protects him from bullies and helps him learn to read. Gege loves nature, adores beasts but plants even more so, to the point where his notes become its own encyclopaedia.

The thing is, as much as people remember Shen Yuan always existing, they also forget him. They confuse things he did for things Shen Jiu has done. They don’t plan for him on trips, they don’t remember him unless he’s there or getting mentioned by Shen Jiu.

And Shen Jiu is plagued by guilt because gege isn’t real, wasn’t supposed to exist. It’s just that he also can’t let go of him, because gege protects him and he doesn’t hate his mean streak or his pettiness or even all his sharp edges. Sometimes, he even enables Shen Jiu!

But as great and as beloved as gege is, he obviously isn’t supposed to be part of this world. Shen Jiu lives in fear of waking up and finding that Shen Yuan has never existed, the way he didn’t until he suddenly did.

He develops separation anxiety, and he becomes verbally violent towards anyone getting too close to gege. That’s his gege, and nobody who can’t even remember he exists all the time can ever have him!

Meanwhile, Shen Yuan somehow ends up transmigrated. Okay, not good but fine. The system informs him that it’s out of order for now, but that he is Shen Jiu's older twin now.

And judging by the face he wakes up next to, Shen Jiu will later become Shen Qingqiu, which is… bad.

When Shen Jiu - didi? Didi. - asks him who he is, he starts to sweat. Has he been found out? Already?! But when he calls him didi, the little scum villain doesn’t call him out on it. Which is amazing!

Then he sees what their life is like. He knew Shen Qingqiu used to be a slave because of the whole prison arc in PIDW, but he didn’t know it would be like this! Well, he’s had younger siblings before, he has one younger brother now, and in neither world he’ll allow something like this to happen to them!

Besides, he’s the villain’s brother now! He’s supposed to be doing villainous things, probably!

So he takes care of their problem - without leaving any witnesses, he’s learned from the OG villain’s mistakes - and drags them off to Cang Qiong Mountain a bit early.

Things turn out fine! Didi starts calling him gege at some point, he makes friends, he protects his didi and even gets to spoil him a little, and Shen Yuan makes sure nothing happens to make didi turn into a complete villain.

That includes finding healthy outlets for his villainousness, of course! Like bullying and destroying the lives of people who actually deserve it. That’s always fun.

Then they become dual peak lords. The protagonist appears. The system comes online.

And they both think at the same time, for different reasons: “I will not lose my twin to this child”

I have seen a few fics where Shen Jiu!Shen Qingqiu gets pollened into having kitty ears which gets him thoroughly embarrassed for a bit but I have yet to see one where it gets him straight up exposed

So he gets pollened and the other perk lord expect something like this:

Meanwhile Shen Qingqiu actually:

Shen Qingqiu still keeps up his usual act, which has the other perk lords quite confused. Sick? Ok. He got pollened. But wdym scared? Scared of what?? And all the time???

Meanwhile Shen Qingqiu has no idea his new body parts are betraying him like that. His mask is perfect after all, nothing has changed. Except the damn ears refuse to participate in the performance.

Angsty Shen Twins AU

There’s this Shen Twins AU that’s been stuck in my head for days. In most of the versions I’ve seen of them, Shen Yuan is the weaker, and soft younger brother, while Shen Jiu is the overly competent, but asshole older brother. And trust that I devour that every time, but what if Shen Yuan is an overly competent older brother, and even surpasses Shen Jiu, both in cultivation and social skills. Shen Yuan is the golden boy of Ciong Qiong Mountain Sect, and Shen Jiu HATES him for it. I love when fanfics depict Shen Yuan & Shen Jiu’s being on really bad terms. 

I want them to experience the Qiu manor, and being disciples of Wu Yanzi, and become so close that they don’t see themselves as separate people, but two parts of one person. Only for Shen Yuan to heal and become someone different as they spend more time in the sect. I want Shen Yuan to learn to love being alive, and the world around him, despite everything that’s happened to him, and for Shen Jiu to resent him for it. 

To see Shen Yuan healing as an act of betrayal. To be so uncomfortable with anything that shows they’re different. For example, after a mission he gets Shen Yuan a book of poetry, and is surprised that Shen Yuan barely shows any interest in it, and is instead focused on the beastries. To be genuinely offended and disgusted when Shen Yuan starts to feel more comfortable and content with dressing a bit more casually. His hair isn’t in that perfectly neat half up, half down style, but in a messy braid. They’re no longer identical. It creates a wave of grief and a trigger to Shen Jiu’s abandonment issues.  

 I want Shen Jiu’s refusal to let go of the trauma of his past, letting it completely ruin the only close relationship he’s had his entire life, aside from the one he had with Yue Qingyuan. Shen Jiu’s inferiority complex makes him unable to see that whenever he gets into a scandal or gets misunderstood, that his brother does try to understand and defend him, or when he does see it, only finds it patronizing and insulting. I want Shen Yuan to try and try and try for years to help his brother, and for that to only make their relationship worse, because of Shen Jiu’s jealousy and because Shen Yuan’s wifebeam backfires on him. His defense of his brother only awards Shen Yuan with more praise for his kind hearted nature, like how people treated Glinda and Elphaba’s friendship in the beginning.  

Shen Yuan and Yue Qingyuan’s relationship is also strained due to Yue Qingyuan refusing to tell him the truth, and for Yue Qingyuan allowing Shen Jiu to do what he wants without consequence. To me, I see them kinda acting like divorced parents, blaming each other for Shen Jiu’s flaws. For Yue Qingyuan’s guilt to double, because the twins were so close before he dragged them to the sect, and he feels responsible for their relationship growing hostile. While, Shen Yuan starts to resent Yue Qingyuan, because he enables Shen Jiu, and he thinks him pathetic and a coward. And for years that’s one of the only things the twins agree on. 

Yue Qingyuan’s passivity, Shen Yuan’s pushyiness, Shen Jiu’s pride and a bunch of other reasons for why they all resent each other. 

I want Shen Yuan to either become head disciple or is the one who everyone wants to be Head disciple only to refuse it because he thinks the plot has to be followed, so it gets passed to Shen Jiu. And that only adds fuels to the fire, because he wasn’t even the first choice, Shen Yuan was, the only reason he got his rank was because his perfect fucking brother wasn’t interested, and that makes Shen Jiu rage.  I can see Shen Yuan leaving for years to explore and research monsters after another argument with his brother, and thinking ‘I wasn't even supposed to be here in the first place, I’ll come back when Lou Binghe is set to arrive ’ And even his absence is not enough for everyone to stop loving him. Shen Jiu knows everyone wants and prefers Shen Yuan for his role, and you want to know the worst part, Shen Jiu knows they’re right. Shen Yuan is the stronger cultivator, the better teacher,  beloved by not only his peak, but most of the others. The only thing Shen Jiu is better at is strategy, and that feels like nothing. I feel like it would be really fun to read Shen Jiu hating his brother, while also wanting to be close to him like he used to, either not knowing or most likely not caring how unhealthy that relationship was.

I come to this platform to provide this random piece of madness as per usual!

Shen Yuan and his younger sister transmigrate into PIDW, Shen Yuan in SQQ and his sister in NYY, what we get is SY in all his glory with the knowledge of Beasts in PIDW while his sister has the knowledge of the plants in her mind — both hate the novel with fury and look disgusted the other read it. Shen NYY doesn't want to marry Luo Binghe so she settles for heavy sister vibes slowly becomes Head Disciple once both Shen's realise they are in this shit show together.

So Shen NYY is off helping her brother break his OOC lock & vise versa, these two are both disgustingly competent when it comes to Qing Jing principles. Shen Yuan being a reluctant CEO getting the paperwork more streamline and doing lessons and such while Shen NYY is a prodigy Guqin player from modern day as well as a chess master. They both are quietly bitchy to everyone around them.

Shen NYY can read her brother to filth when the Head Disciples are forced into a Peak Lord meeting as she can see SQQ's nearly blank disgusted look he had when dealing with his board (he was trying to put her as CEO once to get away with it but backed off when she said ABSOLUTELY NOT). She is trying so hard not to laugh as YQY talks around in circles as SQQ is going more and more annoyed.

The plot with them finding SQH both as another transmigrator and Author is just the Shens bullying him and then keeping him around as they are nor suffering alone in this bs. Poor guy is forced into a sibling relationship, force adoption of the highest degree.

I fucking love “The Price of Peace,” and I’ve read a ton of similar fics, but it just hit me that it’s always one of the Bats (preferably Tim) who ends up being the sacrificial “bride.”

But consider this instead: Danny.

Danny leads the rebellion. Danny topples the evil king. Danny wins the war. And after all that, the very last thing he wants is to rule a kingdom. So he sets up a council—shared power, equal voices, no more crowns—and immediately clocks out of “Supreme Leader” mode forever.

The problem is that the neighboring kingdoms are still nervous because, shockingly, wars leave scars, so Danny volunteers to act as an ambassador to help stabilize things. Just some light diplomacy. A few meetings. Nothing serious.

And then—whoops. One treaty leads to another, politics do what politics do, and suddenly Danny is engaged to Tim Drake as part of a peace agreement.

From Danny’s POV? He’s basically a hostage in a fancy palace and he is like: You mean I live in a secure palace, don’t have to make executive decisions anymore, and my only job is to exist politely and attend dinners?

Early. Fucking. Retirement.

From the Bat side, they think they’ve gained leverage—an important political figure placed conveniently close, possibly a spy, definitely dangerous.

Danny is just sleeping eight hours a night for the first time in years and discovering hobbies.

Everyone thinks they’re playing a high-stakes political game.

Danny thinks he finally won.

We know that the world of Proud Immortal Demon Way is just like Porn World 5000 yeah? It exists primarily as a vehicle for smut, and is absolutely full of the various shenanigans that might induce a sexy scenario (aphrodisiac flowers every 3 feet, every kind of fuck-or-die scenario imaginable, Oh No i don't have the money to pay for my ye olde cultivation world food delivery guess i'll have to take my clothes off, etc.). We are told this so many times - Shen Qingqiu read the novel for the monsters, but he cannot be clear enough that the world is just full of bad excuses to take anyone and everyone to bed.

Except there is literally no evidence of this during his personal journey. None of this happens to him. He has one (1) sexual encounter, but after a long and monogamous courtship. He would argue that it's because he's the scum villain - obviously he doesn't reap the benefits of porn world, they're for Luo Binghe. But also, what if: Shen Qingqiu really does live in porn world he just doesn't fucking notice

Like what if he actually can't move for aphrodisiac flowers, it's just that he has the uncanny ability to dodge them (encyclopedic memory hard at work) and doesn't notice when they hit his friends, colleagues, disciples etc. Oh, those two are getting friendly he thinks and carries on his merry way.

What if he stumbles on a fuck-or-die scenario in basically every mission he's ever been on, but he somehow dodges around them like he's in the fucking matrix and carries on with his day and no one knows how he does it.

What if his fellow peak lords are all involved in decades-long situationships with each other, in varying configurations and constantly changing, because of a) all the aphrodisiacs and b) the genuine medical importance of dual cutivation, it's just that Shen Qingqiu hasn't noticed. He is invited! He has been invited by multiple people, on multiple occasions! Everyone is very worried about his Without-a-Cure and some good old-fashioned hanky panky might really help him out, but even the most direct offers don't seem to get through to Shen Qingqiu!

That's to say nothing of the romantic advances, because after his qi deviation the new Shen Qingqiu is so much more approachable, and suddenly a professional offer to dual cultivate morphs into a request for a far more intimate kind of relationship, and still - zero comprehension. The situation for his many suitors is getting desperate. Courtship gifts (thank you Liu Qingge) are received with bemused affection, but no invitation to come inside. The Sect Leader's increasingly sad efforts to win Shen Qingqiu over (he always loved him, but with the softer Xiao Jiu it seems like there might now be a chance), are never outright rejected, but they slide off Shen Qingqiu like water. Yue Qingyuan even places a (trembling) hand on Shen Qingqiu's knee, an impropriety that could not be more blatant, but Shen Qingqiu assumes he's fussing about his qi flow again (who would make a pass at the scum villain, after all?).

Shen Qingqiu garners quite the reputation. Not for being a lech, but for being as lofty and untouchable as a fairy, a man somehow so self-contained he glides above the fundamental rules of the world itself. He is baffling, and no one can decide if he's frigid or pure, but opinion is definitely swaying towards the latter.

Naturally, Shen Qingqiu - confused potentially ace-spec but definitely deeply closeted man - has no idea about any of this. Not one single thought has passed through his mind. He may live in porn world but sex honestly hasn't occurred to him.

Shen Qingqiu insists he doesn't practice chastity (you couldn't pay him enough to go to the ascetic peak!) and yet somehow, chastity practices him. It drives everyone around him crazy (which, naturally, he also doesn't notice).

Been thinking about a Jinlan City AU where some months before the trip, Shen Qingqiu gets cursed to feel pain whenever somebody is touching him.

Not only in a physical way but maybe more of a mental attack on his mind too, which makes him instinctively afraid of people coming near him (extremely complicating the clearing of his meridians), flinching away from them and getting angry when they get too close. (Maybe he doesn't even know he's cursed. Everyone else thinks it's due to his Grief)

When the mission comes up Liu Qingge advises YQY to send SQQ with them. Maybe he just needs a little change of scenery to take his mind off of things. After all, he hasn't left his peak in months, completely forbids everyone from entering his house and only leaves it himself to visit Luo Binghes 'grave'. (YQY is sold and SQQ gets dragged kicking and screaming towards Jinlan City)

When the Sower demon lunges for him, he manages to dodge just in time and it doesn't infect him. But the encounter leaves him so rattled, that by the time he steps up the stairs of the brothel, he is extremely on edge. Desperate to get this over with and go home again.

He's irritated and snaps at Gongyi Xiao to hurry up so they can move on, when he looks up to find Luo Binghe already staring at him.

One of the Huan Hua disciples notices his carefully kept distance. Deciding to antagonize him, they try to give him a subtle shoulder check as he passes by to inspect the corpse. Shen Qingqiu flinches away violently and stumbles over one of the sower's legs, directly into Luo Binghes arms. And oh no!!! Look at how red Binghe is, he must be so angry! But... doesn't it feel kinda nice to be held like this? It seems like the protagonist truly is the exception for everything

(Binghe, the poor thing, is so flustered that he barely manages to stop himself from stuttering in every sentence and desperately tries to keep his composure)

Just!!! Shen Qingqiu flinching away from everyone and keeping close to Binghe because he's the only one whose touch isn't hurting him. And weirdly enough everyone seems to keep their distance when he's near Binghe...

Yue Qingyuan was pregnant, and Shen Qingqiu didn't know why or who was involved. The worst part was the soft peaceful glow to Yue Qingyuan's expression. He was so happy.

No one had spoken up and taken responsibility for this. Shen Qingqiu had very thoroughly dug into everything that was being said about it. Shen Qingqiu did not have good connections for following up on rumors within Cang Qiong. His control over Qing Jing was absolute, but off it finding out what was going on was much more difficult. Thankfully Shang Qinghua was a cowering little rat that easily broke when threatened and shared everything he had heard.

Shen Qingqiu felt torn. The father was unknown. Yue Qingyuan was happy. There was an opportunity here-but it involved acknowledging a baby. And having to deal with it.

The rumors about the Warm Red Pavilion would play in his favor this time. Shen Qingqiu quietly made movements, and started to set things up. The news that Shen Qingqiu had taken advantage of the sect leader would spread soon enough.

Then he would just have to guilt Yue Qingyuan into not revealing the truth, and his position was secure.

“Coming!” Danny shouted back, putting the model rocket he was working on down on his desk and walking down the stairs till he was in the living room with the rest of the Fenton family

“What’s up, Dad?” Danny asked, Jack looking like an overeager puppy—well, more so than usual, that is.

“My brother John is coming over!” Jack grinned, “You’ll like him, a good fella!”

“We have an Uncle?” Jazz raised an eyebrow, “I didn’t know Grandma Janice had a son besides Dad,”

“Your Grandmother had married an English man sometime after your grandfather died, but they’d gotten divorced, and your Uncle John had gone with his father back to England.” Maddie explained, “He didn’t ever get along with your father much,”

“But now we’ll get the chance to move past our childhood squabbles and become the brothers we should’ve always been!” Jack grinned, “You’ll love your Uncle Connie!”

“Connie?” Danny asked in confusion, “I thought his name was John?”

“John Constantine,” Maddie clarified, “He took his father’s name when your grandmother went back to her previous marriage’s one,”

“When’s he going to be here?” Jazz questioned right before the doorbell rang.

Jack sprung up, “There he is!”

Bounding towards the door, the orange-clad man threw open the front door and wrapped his arms around whoever was there in a large hug.

“Johnny!” Jack exclaimed, “How are you, buddy?!”

“Get off me!” A British voice yelped, “I can’t breathe, ya bloody idiot!”

Jack let go and a blonde man in a trench coat fell to the floor, coughing slightly as he stood up.

“Fuckin’ shit,” The man looked rough, greasy blond hair and a stubble of a beard all while smelling of cigarette smoke and faintly of alcohol.

The man glanced at Maddie, “You’re Maddie, right? Jack’s wife,”

“That’s me,” Maddie smiled as she held out her hand as he took it to shake.

“John Constantine,” He grunted, “This buffoon’s half brother,”

The man suddenly made eye contact with Danny and his eyes went wide at the same time Danny felt his core shutter.

John cleared his throat, “Guessin’ your Danny?”

Danny nodded, “Uh, yeah,”

The two shook hands, both thinking the same thought.

When Baba doesn't have classes to teach in the morning he liked to sleep late, so Luo Binghe would sneak out of bed and go to the kitchen.

Baba worried about him burning himself so Luo Binghe was very careful as he made congee and started water for tea.

He'd just finished setting up the tea tray and fixing the one two three bowls when the door to the other bedroom opened and Uncle came to sit at the table.

Uncle isn't a morning person either but he pretended he was better than Baba. (Baba said that's why he was Peak Lord and Baba wasn't.)

Binghe brought over the tea set before returning to the kitchen for his and Uncle's bowls- Baba's went under the cover that keeps it warm.

Uncle had poured them both tea when he returned and they sat side by side in silence as they eat and drink. Baba liked to talk as they eat and while Binghe liked listening to Baba he also liked this, just sitting quietly by Uncle and listening to the wind and birds outside...

"Your cooking is improving zhizi. It's quite good." Uncle told him and Binghe can't help but grin.

Baba told him he did a good job all the time of course-even if he knows he didn't really. But if Uncle says something nice he knows it's true. Uncle didn't say things were good unless they're really really good.

He thanked Uncle for his praise politely and they keep eating in silence again. Until he put his bowl down and Uncle turned to face him.

Luo Binghe sat up a little straighter. He recognized Uncle's 'serious talk' face.

"You love your Baba right?"

Suspiciously easy first question. "Yes!"

Uncle nodded. "Good. I love him too."

That was true. He wasn't very much like Uncle at all, but they both loved Baba the most.

"What would you do to keep him safe?"

"Anything." Binghe said quickly. Uncle had asked this one before.

Uncle regarded him closely. "What if what would keep him safe was for you to leave him and go far away?"

Luo Binghe's stomach clenched. That was a new question. He didn't - he didn't like it.

"Why would that keep Baba safe?" he asked. He sounded sniffly, but Uncle didn't hug him like Baba would have.

Luo Binghe clenched his little fists and took big deep breaths like Baba told him to when he was upset. Baba and Uncle were the only ones who knew about Binghe's secret. Baba said Binghe's mama had hid his demon parts away so he would be safe while he was little. He didn't like thinking about that. His mama or his secret demon parts. He didn't want anyone to know about them. He didn't want to have to leave Baba!

But that was why Uncle had these talks with him. He wanted Binghe to think about it so if the worst thing happened Binghe would know what to do.

"Then I would go far away so Baba would be safe," Binghe said. That was a big scary thought though so he couldn't help but ask another question. "Would I have to stay away forever?"

Uncle's face softened a little. "Your Baba wouldn't let you stay away forever."

Binghe felt much better hearing that. "Then I'd definitely go," he said. "You'd take care of Baba while I was gone right?"

"Of course," Uncle said. Then he patted Binghe on the head. "Good boy."

Binghe leaned on Uncle and Uncle let him. They sat quietly for a while longer before they heard Baba stirring in his room.

Uncle was already all dressed for the day but Baba came out of his rooms in his sleep clothes still.

"Binghe," he said as soon as he saw them. "Have you been cooking again? I've told you eight is too little to be doing that!"

"I'll eat your congee then if you're protesting," Uncle said.

Baba scoffed and went to retrieve his bowl from the kitchen. "You shouldn't let him do all this." he told Uncle.

"I'll not coddle him to death like you're set on." Uncle snapped. "If you'd left him where you found him wouldn't he be cooking for himself already?"

Uncle said Baba shouldn't have adopted him all the time but Binghe knew he didn't mean it.

He proved it when he turned to frown at Binghe and declared. "Your hair is a mess boy, go get your brushes!"

Binghe scuttled back to his and Baba's rooms for his combs and hair oils.

"Be nice to my baby." Baba said behind him.

Uncle scoffed.

When he came back Uncle made him sit in front of him so Uncle could start fixing his curly hair. He complained under his breath about Binghe's 'ridiculous hair' and 'my ridiculous brother' but his fingers detangled Binghe's curls with the same care Baba's did.

Neither of them ever ever pulled too hard.

Shen Yuan was originally a random civilian, but he was mistaken for Shen Qingqiu by a dying Liu Qingge who collapsed in front of him. Shen Yuan freaked out and takes Liu Qingge to his apartment to give him first aid.

Shen Qingqiu goes looking for the other peak lord as they were supposed to be working together on a case, and ends up at a civilian apartment. He forces the door open to see his doppleganger treating a very flustered Liu Qingge.
