Let's bring back emojis 🤑
I've recently been pondering using more emojis in my texting, even if it's the basic yellow ones. I realize they can actually convey a lot of tone. But almost noone uses them. Then I remembered that "tone indicators" are a thing but that they always kind of annoyed me, despite me seeing the usefulness of them in clarifying communication in an easy way.
I realize now why they annoy me, because emojis are already tone indicators, and I feel like they're so much more fun! 😁 <- freaking love this guy
So why do tone indicators exist if emojis already serve the same purpose? Well, I believe it's because the people on "modern age" social media sites like reddit or "X" shame people for using them. Why? Probably childishness, too goofy, they are linked to being "unintelligen" (The "Who did this? 😂😂😂" trend comes to mind here).
I also think overuse of emojis is why people dislike them. So in turn, I feel like there's nothing wrong with using them as tone indicators — in an elegant way.
(I also want to use the em dash more due to recent discussion on this webbed site).
My conclusion is that we should all go back to using emojis, they're fun and can absolutely prevent misunderstandings. For example, the /s indicator for sarcasm. It's a debated one, because to announce you're being sarcastic is at odds with the goal of the sarcastic remark. I feel like an emoji could be a perfect compromise. Also including the emoticons like " :D, :3, :(, ;) "
"I'm sure people are smart enough to get this /s"
vs.
"I'm sure people are smart enough to get this 🙄"
vs
"I'm sure people are smart enough to get this -_-"
I really like the eyeroll a lot more in this case.
In conclusion, I feel like neurodivergent people were shamed out of using emojis and forced to think of a new system to avoid shame. I want to go back to using them. I made this post because I found this a non obvious issue. I want to bring the emoji back, and I hope this post can start a conversation abt it and also make people think twice before shaming others for using them. This mainly happens on Reddit but I still wanted to add it to the end of the post just in case. :3

Video Games Soundtracks I Like
People keep asking for the soundtracks I like or am inspired by so here are the ones I can remember. If it’s not on this list I either forgot it, haven’t played it, or it’s too obvious (mario/zelda).
If you’re a video game music enthusiast you might enjoy looking up soundtracks you haven’t heard of before.
This list isn’t complete. Not sure if I’ll update it though.

can we not suddenly be okay with an AI video just because it happens to be funny. yes it's amusing to see a cat shoot a laser beam at an old lady but dear lord it's still slop and uncreative that cost idk how many liters of water to generate. this is exactly what they want you to think man. it's funny so it's alright. no!! call it out every time and remind people this shit is making actual human lives worse with every use of it.

I'm really happy with how this video turned out and youtube's algorithm is just not having it. Please consider checking it out, I promise it's a fun watch!
OR in the west cartoons are almost always for children and adult cartoons usually have foul language and sex jokes. Therefore, anime is seen as childish, and when it isn't childish looking, it must be full of pervert sex stuff because that's how western cartoons can be.
But you can't deny there is not the same stigma or shame around being into Family Guy, American Dad, or Big Mouth which are full of perverted sex stuff and foul language.
Granted, it is hard to get any adult that hasn't touched cartoons in ages to get into a serious cartoon. But Bojack Horseman, for example, is regarded as one of the best written shows ever in the west due to its deep writing and the way it handles sensitive themes like mental health, and there's a bigger chance noone will find it strange despite it being a cartoon. But if you say you're into Mob Psycho 100, there's a bigger chance people will look at you weird, just because it's Japanese, and not because it's a cartoon.
Hell, for a while, Rick and Morty was so popular, you couldn't walk 2 feet without running into someone that loves that show. Now it's more embarassing to be into it, but that's mainly because of the reputation the fanbase built up, and not because of its cartoon status.
And please note that I'm not only talking about the chronically online crowd such as ourselves, because I know we may raise an eyebrow at someone being into Big Mouth. But the chronically offline person that pops it on will likely not ever choose anime because it's too "weird" for them. (Translation: It's Japanese and they can't handle anything not Western)
Capitalism is one of the biggest guilt trips of humanity ever concocted. Like okay, I'm appreciative of the gift of life as much as the next guy, it's incredible, but I really don't think I owe society anything for keeping me alive. Like, "We kept you alive, so now you gotta spend your life contributing so other people's lives can be more comfortable" like bitch? that's like giving me a coffee maker for my birthday but now you expect me to make you coffee every morning. may as well just left me to die if I'm forced to spend my life on you. YOU guys gave me a life, I should be free to decide how I spend my time here. btw this isnt abt parents, this is about society and the way it operates. Yes of course I'd love to contribute to my community, but that doesn't always make "money" which is the be all end all for some reason? Like why is that the most important thing? This shit's stupid man, I hope it all crumbles.
Cloverpit is very fun and even though it's a Balatro-lite I feel like it does it better than Balatro. Intriguing environment too and pretty simple to get runs off the ground once you understand it. I'm not sure about the memory packs yet, though, but for me it's a 4/5 stars.
watching joseph anderson play odyssey. making me hungry for a new 3D mario. the new donkey kong was awesome and i have to imagine the mario they're cooking will be even bigger and better than it. pleas buntendo!!!!
