My final storyboard.
For this project I decided to focus on the slum challenge as I have been to Inda and experienced the slums first-hand. Originally I wanted to incorporate some of the photos I took while there, but as I worked on it, things changed and they did not suit the overall makeup of my clip.
I chose to use recyclable materials for my clip as recycling reduces waste that is often in slum areas. The audio clip I used, was sourced from http://www.jamendo.com/ and has a creative commons licence.
Stop Motion Links
Here's some stop motion clips I really enjoyed:

The joint I got given for this assignment was the hip. I chose to focus on rotate/pivot and shift. Using the rubber band to hold my design together was also a way to try and make the rotation movement return the ball to it's original position.
I enjoyed using the hip as the focus of movement, as I have arthritis in my hips and I wanted to somehow incorporate the restrictive movement and create a visual interpretation of pain into my design. To achieve this I installed the wire underneath the ball as it gave a sense of restriction, as well as degeneration to the underside of the ball.
Through my iterative process I developed my idea, continuing to make is simpler from my original design. I learnt that even though complex designs may look and sound awesome, sometimes a minimalist approach works and looks just as good as the elaborate designs.

Judith Braun - Diamond Dust (detail). Drawn on wall with fingers dipped in charcoal, 12x48 feet (2013)
Finally managed to change the framerate!
So I tried to do the stop motion trial run from the tutorial Tuesday, and for some reason the frame-rate is messed up making the clip only 1-2 seconds long despite having 55 photos. I am using Premiere Pro as I don't have Virtual Dub and can't seem to get the settings right.

Flash animation using elements that make me ME, beginning with the Clan Scott crest and incorporating symbols I consider part of my culture.
Summary: Defining myself, I am an out and proud pagan lesbian, who also has a Scottish/Celtic/Gaelic heritage. I do not hide who I am and I am always true to myself. Somehow I would like to incorporate these elements into my flash project. I am big on equality - not just for Gay Rights and issues, but in a wider perspective. I love celtic knot work and patterns so I wonder if I can mesh all of these elements together in some way.

I love the lyrics of this song.
One of my main mantra's in life is "I am me I will not hide"
Sound bite I have chosen for my Animation project.
I have chosen "Born this way" simply because I was indeed born the way my symbol/pattern depicts.
