I can't help but imagine that when Jason get's close his Crime Alley/Bowery accent starts to slip out 👀

The first time you meet him his accent’s all thick, harsh and edgy. The briskness of Gotham, sharp and slick all at once.

The Jason Todd public figure accent is a subtler version of that, he leans into his vowels then. Red Hood uses it too (albeit behind a modulator.) Words of reassurance are crisp and clean and the shit talk he throws at thugs is thoroughly enunciated.

But the Jason you get to keep between hook ups, the one that sheds your clothes off your body in fistfuls and makes you whine and mewl under skilled hands and a tender mouth— that Jason has a mish-mash of these intonations in the way he speaks. His sentences spill in a swirling melody of each version, yet if pressed, you’re fully aware that you’d be able to imitate his accent perfectly.

Time thaws him, loosens the leashes it keeps on his neck and it’s right along here, after a full day of him— a rare pleasure— that you finally crack open his guarded shell enough to drag the roughness of Gotham from his tongue once more.

The way the word, “Fuck” hangs in the air between your bodies, lingering like static electricity as you wrap a hand around him, is new. You twist your wrist, angling your thumbs to touch him the way he likes and brace yourself for it again, a taste of the rough tanginess in his voice.

“Shit, darlin’,” he husks. “I’m close.”

To bad, you thought. You weren’t going to give in to him until your auditory appetite was satiated.
