Los Misterios Dolorosos del Rosario contados por Nuestro Señor Jesucristo. http://www.tlig.org/sp/sprosarys.html
-Yo soy Santo.

Knock loud, I’m home.
We hope you enjoy the weekend as much as this fox playing King of the Hill at Lake Clark National Park and Preserve in Alaska. Photo by J. Mills, National Park Service.
It’s International Mountain Day! Not only are mountains majestic, they’re also critical to the water cycle, food production and tourism. Denali, America’s tallest mountain, is often shrouded in clouds, but on clear days at Denali National Park & Preserve in Alaska, you can see why its name means “The High One.” Photo by Jacob W. Covering over 400,000 acres in southeast Georgia, Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest intact freshwater ecosystems in the world. The swamp is home to over 600 plant species and provides habitat for an amazing variety of amphibians and birds. You can also see black bears and of course, American alligators. Here’s one swimming towards a rainbow. Photo by Sarah Wyatt, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

From the Jan. 30, 1970 cover story - SNOW MONKEYS OF JAPAN. According to LIFE, “On a rugged, windswept peninsula of northern Honshu, farther north than any other primates except man, a small colony of Japanese monkeys is maintaining a lonely outpost against the elements. Thousands of years ago, when the climate of Japan was milder, many more monkeys lived in these mountainous areas. Today (circa 1970) only about 50 are left.” (Co Rentmeester—The LIFE Picture Collection/Getty Images) #wildLIFEwednesday #Japan #SnowMonkeys
A serious bird with a playful look, Northern Hawk Owls live year round in Alaska. Able to spot prey a half mile away, this skilled hunter can also seize small animals hiding under a foot of snow. Hello, world! It’s time to meet the Vietnamese potbellied pig and the five rescue pups who make up @piggypoo_and_crew. From left to right, there’s Rika, Slick, Nya, James, Bashe and Chowder. “When I look at my crew, I see the reflection of who I am in them,” says their human Shelby, who lives in Southern California. “Their happiness, their safety, their health, their whole lives rely on me and I will never ever let them down.”

132 black cats lined up to audition for the title character in Edgar Allen Poe’s 1843 short story The Black Cat in 1961. In the story, the cat’s owner plasters him into a wall, along with his murdered wife. Eventually, the animal’s mewing from beyond the grave leads investigators to the woman’s body. The film adaptation, which would appear in the 1962 horror compilation Tales of Terror, adjusted the storyline by weaving in elements of another Poe tale. During the audition, the owners took care not to let the black cats cross their path. (Ralph Crane—The LIFE Picture Collection/Getty Images) #superstitions #FridayThe13th #blackcats #tbt
