I work retail and every day we get an email with the amount of items we are getting in the next day. Today I was told we are getting 2199 items. But no big deal...

When you wear walkie talkies at work and somebody says “Nevermind, I see you” over walkie talkie and basically you are a puddle of emotions the rest of the day.

1x07- Contents Under Pressure

Alright people, I have returned! I know all 20 people that were dilligently reading my reviews are rejoicing! With the beginning of filming season 5, SDCC, and all the fun picture’s coming out my brain has once again been taken over by all things “The 100” (aka “The 101 counting Bellamy”). I’m jumping back into my reviews with episode 1x07 aka “Contents Under Pressure” aka easily one of my top 10 favorite episodes of this show. Get ready for the gushing, get ready for the Bellarke feels and get ready for the SPOILERS. (I had to get that in there). I WILL be talking about season 4. I mean if you haven’t watched season 4 yet what are you even doing with your life?! But I digress. OK, (Mario Voice) Here we go!

-Raven created a radio out of spare parts that communicated with a space station in the SKY. She is a genius. Never forget that. -Kane vs. Abby. Oh the memories. -ok but like I’m annoyed that Raven got the comms working from earth and Clarke couldn’t and bell thinks she’s dead and i’ve digressed…. -Definitely a note of pride in Sinclair’s voice when he confirms the signal coming from earth. -Literally probably the last mention of Wells (until season 4) and I’m not ok with that. #wellswasreal -Kane realizing the consequences of their decisions. -MILLER -I keep forgetting what a terrible person Diana Sydney is. Like she is a horrible human. -Lets talk about Clarke basically performing surgery at 17… -I love how Bellamy is asking Lincoln questions like “Where is your camp? How many of you are there?” Like Linc is just gonna be like “well you take a left at the trees and a right at the lincoln memorial statue and there you are. Theres about 75 of us…” -I wonder what Lincoln thought of Bellamy and Clarke. Like they are peak married in this scene. I just want him to lean into Miller and be like “so these two?” -I really miss Vera Kane. Like she was a little cooky but she knew whats up. -I think this was the beginning of the turning point in Kane and I am so glad to have been on this journey with him. -I love how Miller takes like 1 second to let Clarke in. -Eliza (and Bob, TBH) not being able to say “our” in an american accent is just hilarious. -The iconic moment where Bellamy looks to Clarke before he steps over the line and she gives him the nod. -“I lost my son!” is Jaha’s greatest line in this entire show. (ok obvs besides “you keep her centered”) It is perhaps the only time we see any real emotion from him. Any connection to the world. Most times he just seems like a cold robot but this one time he allows himself to be transparent. Such a good delivery by Isaiah. -Ugg, Sydney being a lying liar that lies. -Meanwhile, in crazy town, meet Raven. -ok i genuinely LOVE Lincoln and Octavia together but i never understood how he was so in love with her after never even really speaking to her and only seeing her at a distance for a few days.


-Also not to be ignored is the Clarke/Finn relationship. Like i get their immediate attraction, etc. but she doesn't LOVE him. She’s only known him for like 3 days… -Momma Kane (insert crying emoji) -ok I don’t care if Linctavia isn’t believable. I LOVE THEM -Can Miller’s beanie come back in season 5? like puleeeezzze -“Who we are and we need to be to survive are very different things” BOOM Icon Alert! -Not to be outdone by “its not easy being in charge is it?” no it isnt! BUT that is why ya’ll have eachother! -“We are on the titanic and there aren’t enough life boats” greatest way to end an episode.

Well, we made it through! So much happened this episode and really it set the pace for the next few episodes. The Raven-Clarke-Finn dynamic, the Clarke vs Abby dynamic and all the political mess going on up in space. Not to mention this is the moment Clarke really becomes a co-leader with Bellamy. The first time they have to make this decision together to do something they wouldn't normally have done. I maintain that if Clarke had not wanted Bellamy to continue torturing Lincoln he would have stopped. At this point, he already values her opinion and her input. Also the times they are a changing on the Ark. We are starting to empathize with Kane as he realizes the consequences to his decisions and we are starting to see how cold and closed off Jaha has made himself to take on this leadership role (“Leadership is a lonely pursuit”).

TOTALS: Number of major surgeries completed by a teenager while being in instructed over a walkie talkie: definitely zero ya’ll. hard zero.

Number of metal old worn out contraptions that could actually survive a hurricane: Evidentially 1 (the dropship. Which leads me to my point- THE DROPSHIP COULD SURVIVE PRAIMFAYA).

I give this episode 4 council pins out of 5 council pins.

1x06- His Sister’s Keeper

Hello hello! I am back! I just want to warn everybody (like I did last week ) that this has to be one of my all time favorite episodes. This and “Day Trip” I think I’ve watched at least 20 times. I probably could have done this review/commentary without even watching the episode but then I wouldn’t have gotten to watch the episode! So here I am, obligatory THERE WILL BE SEASON 1-4 SPOILERS (this episode is very foreshadowing and parallel heavy so just keep that in mind) and here we go:

-Baby Bellamy is probably one of my favorite things. -I have such mixed feelings about Aurora Blake. Like I want to hate her but I also know she had a rough time. -Yes let’s let my 7 year old name his sister, he’s not going to name her an extremely geeky name or anything… -EPIC LINE ALERT: “Your sister, your responsibility”- yet again maybe not something I would say to my 7 year old…but we are where we are. -I love how Clarke starts the convo like “yea you still suck and I’m mad at you” but then when Bell tells her Octavia is missing she's like “let’s immediately find her!” -LINCOLN! -I have so many questions about Lincoln’s origin. Like was he already a traitor at this point and he was just camping out at the cave? Or was he sent to spy on the 100 and fell for Octavia thus making him a traitor? SO. MANY. QUESTIONS! -I think the reason Finn sucks so much because he’s not like inherently twirling his mustache evil, he’s just weak. Like he couldn’t just tell Raven what happened and he’s still trying to get with Clarke. UGG HE SUCKS. -“He knows and now he has to live with it.” Literally Bellamy’s entire life :-( -Ok but you cannot tell me they learned how to track in earth skills, like why though? I don’t know how to track and I live on earth. Like when they went into the Ark they were living in a time period like we are now. They should have been learning about which instagram filter makes this waterfall look prettier. -unpopular opinion: I happen to love Bellamy’s short hair in the flashbacks. -Raven wanting to literally stop and smell the flowers and Clarke being like “no. Flowers are dumb lets keep going.” -I would have wanted to see an Ark flashback of Raven growing up, although I feel like now too much time has passed. -can I just take moment to ask WHO IS BRAIDING EVERYBODY’S HAIR?! Like Roma and Monroe have full on braids in their hair and I need to know who is doing it… -I love how Raven is like “Finn only makes metal sculptures for girls he sleeps with so he obvs slept with you.” This is the obvious conclusion to come to. -Serious question- What did they think would happen with Octavia? Like when she was a full fledged adult? She was just gonna live her entire life in the floor? -I think Big Brother Bellamy is one of my favorite Bellamys. -headcanon that that is the same window he is looking out of at the end of 4x13. -Jasper carefree and on the Ark is the saddest but also the happiest thing. -Marie is like 1/3rd the size of Ricky and I love it. -Shumway. I detest you. -I’m sorry but why is Raven taking this out on Clarke. Like OBVS Clarke had no idea she existed and that sucks but thats also FINN’S FAULT. -I’m so absolutely pleased that when Raven asks “Do you love him?” Clarke says “I hardly know him.” Because that is the absolute truth! -Bellamy  walking into the empty compartment is like the saddest thing ever. He just looks so miserable. -Shumway, I still detest you. -“Every stupid thing you did was to protect your sister” AMEN. -JASPER SAVES THE DAY -Finn is not doing too hot right now. -“She didn’t always see it but I did” Ugg the tears keep coming :-( -HE JUST WANTED TO PROTECT YOU OCTAVIA! -ok but i LOVED how the end of this episode set up the next episode. I cannot remember if they aired back to back but I can’t think of another episode that ended with a lead into the next like this one did.

OK and we are DONE! I think my favorite part about the episode the first time I saw it was that it gave so much explanation for why the Blakes are the way they are. Until now we knew that Octavia was illegal and Aurora was floated but we had no idea how that came about. I also love that this episode introduces everybody to Greek Mythology nerd Bellamy Blake. A head canon that carried us through the entire series and basically confirmed multiple times that there was more than meets the eye with Bellamy. I think that everybody was starting to thaw on their dislike of Bell and this episode gave us permission to be like “ok yea we love him”.

TOTALS: Number of times I kept repeating line’s from Clarke’s 4x13 speech: Had to be like 30. Number of John’s left: 1 (RIP Mbege)

1x05- Twilight’s Last Gleaming

I’m just going to warn everybody at large that we are about to enter the stretch of episodes that are my absolute favorite in this entire show. Starting with this one and ending with I am Become Death, I could watch these next 6 of episodes over and over again and never get tired. So with that warning and the OBLIGATORY SPOILERS FOR SEASONS 1-4 WARNING, I give you Twilight’s Last Gleaming.

-When Finn is saying 100% the actual truth but you’re still supposed to think he’s a good guy so you think he’s joking. -Abby is basically about to be floated and all she is worried about is the kids, so yea maybe I don’t hate her for what she did to Jake. -Jaha is still terrible though. -What is it with this show and numbers in the 300s dying? -The fact that Raven had to even question herself once ALIE was gone is insane to me. She is literally a genius. She didn’t need ALIE. -Finn talking about the “next time someone pulls a Murphy” and oh wait, that ends up being him…#foreshadowing -Finn is such an absolute creep. Like I want to like him because I know he’s not the worst human ever (that is totes Jaha) but he is just not a good guy. -I think its interesting how Clarke is the only one that wants to bring up all the people they’ve lost and yet this season(4) she barely even acknowledged Jasper’s death. -The greatest dad in the history of the world- Tor Lemkin. Like he is a SUPERHERO. I can’t talk about how awesome he is enough. -Oh look, Jackson being Jackson. Also a gem on this earth, or on this Ark I guess. -That moment when Clarke knows exactly what Bellamy is doing even though they aren’t fully married status yet. -Octavia is so frustrating sometimes. Literally all Bell wanted was to protect her. (insert mental “Every stupid thing you did was to protect your sister. She didn’t always see that, but I did” moment and now I’m crying). -Oh look, chess for a change. Were there no other games on the Ark? -But can we just watch these scene of Kane and Jaha planning the culling and then watch the scene of them in “The Chosen” and just stand in awe of the character development. They are literally planning the exact same thing and the differences in these scenes are astounding. -Jaha trying to sacrifice himself like 6 times in season 1 but then changes his tune by season 2 and onward. (Like why didn’t he let that little boy’s dad live?!). -Ok but I’ve actually spotted something. This season (season 4) when all of the sudden he talked about being an engineer I feel like everybody was like “no but what?! Also who is Riley?” but I digress. He just mentioned how he would be inspecting repairs in section 17 so maybe he WAS an engineer. Yes, I’m reaching… -Kane has a strength “Not weakened by Sentiment” but like no. That is Alternative Facts. -DON’T DO IT BELL! -This is actually proof of Gryffindor Bellamy, he does things without thinking. A Slytherin would have waited to see who was in the ship found out who they were and when they had a moment they would have stolen the radio. A Gryffindor does whatever first comes to their mind. Like throwing the only communication they have with the Ark into the water. -Also, I know this is hella premature but I’m calling it now. The only character I 100% believe will survive the entire show is Raven Reyes. She just will. (and probs Monty). -Oh hey Finn remember your actual girlfriend. Its been like 5 min but the she still exists. -Clarke is like “wait what?” -Like what kind of explanation is “We’ve known each other our whole lives” that makes zero of the sense. “Oh hey sorry I slept with you even though I’m already seeing somebody. If it helps we’ve know each other our whole lives so that actually makes me even more of a terrible person.” -Ok, the chess board, I’m in all the tears. #RIPWells -This Abby/Jaha scene though- She doesn’t want him to die and leave everybody in the hands of Kane. Cut to- Season 4, she’s about to do exactly that. -ACCURATE ASSESSMENT OF JAHA- He has always been cowardly. -That moment of realization when Bellamy realizes Jaha isn’t dead. Also the fact that Clarke realizes thats how she might be able to get through to him. -uggggg Shumway. I shall call him Brutus. -Never the less, she persisted. -While we are on the Hogwarts house subject- Is there anybody on earth that thinks Raven is NOT a Ravenclaw? -I literally cry every time Tor comes on the screen. He was just…amazing… -The original LIST! -“One decision does not define a man” -This scene, ALL. THE. TEARS. The barrette, THE BARRETTE. -Oh yay, Kane is starting to be good! -Tor Lemkin with some TRUTH YA’LL. -Everything about these scenes were perfection: The song, the directing, the Cinematography literally everything. -EPIC LINE ALERT: “Can you wish on this kind of shooting star?” “ I wouldn’t even know what to wish for.” -I can’t stress enough the connection these 2 have, and they don’t even like each other yet! But They never have to explain themselves to each other, they just get it. -LINCOLN!!! #thegreatest #thebest #betterthanalltherest #ihavetoomanyfavorites -I just got the most chills. “We put our faith in a forgiving god” ok season 4 throwing all the way back to season 1. Like I KNOW they did it a lot and I recognized most moments but I didn’t realize this was such a specific call back. -While I’m on the subject of Day Trip 2.0 and parallels. In this episode Jaha presses the button alone to kill everybody in section 17: “leadership is a lonely pursuit”. However when Bellamy and Clarke pull the lever to kill everybody in Mount Weather they do it “together” (#OTP #Together #okfineillstop): “She’s lucky to have you. You keep her centered”.

Alright people that Episode though! It starts off slow but then its a wild roller coaster ride to the end. Predictably there were a ton of parallels for this episode and “The Chosen” because they are basically doing the exact same thing. Are they doomed to continue to repeat themselves every few years?! Not likely seeing as how the entire Earth just rebooted. This was the first episode that I remember watching and bawling my eyes out. The first of many I will admit. Next episode is when I shall start my list of “1 million reasons Bellamy Blake is the actual best” so fair warning. TOTALS: number of barrettes I have scene at target and started bawling over: 23. Not an insane number, just 23. number of times Octavia has fallen down a hill and/or mountain and survived: every.single.time. #cantbenormal

all in all i give it a 4.5 radios out of 5 radios.

1x04- Murphy’s Law

Alrighty, on to Episode 2 for this week. It feels like we got so much information in these first 4 episodes that I almost forget we are still only 4 episodes into the first season. Obligatory: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR SEASON 1-4!

-Reminder: Charlotte is officially Madi #1 to me. -Why doesn’t Clarke still tell these stories about Wells?! Like I would have loved them! -but CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS: Clarke talking to FINN about her mother killing her Father. Like i know this was not intentional foreshadowing but WOW WITH THE FORESHADOWING. -Jackson worrying about Abby is like peak Jackson. He's just an angel really. -Murphy peeing on that guy is still like the grossest thing ever. -Octavia and Jasper:-) -Kane is so spicious of Abby. He’s not SUspicious, just spicious. -When am I allowed to start liking Kane. Can we skip to when he’s a good guy?! -Raven’s description of “bad dead” is hilarious. -The fact that Bell and Clarke are not even officially the leaders yet but they are already totally the leaders is basically this entire show. Octavia and Jasper brought the knife to THEM. together. Not just Bellamy, not just Clarke. both of them. -Also the whole “do we keep it quiet or do we tell everybody” is their entire lives. -Can we talk about how Bell is always honest with her too? She says “this is the best for you!” and he immidiately says “yea.” no excuse, no lies. -Ok, Bellarke tangent over, I swear. -Also obsessed with Bellamy’s “come again?” When Murphy says he doesn’t have to answer to anyone. -“The rules are there are no rules, except like, obvs we cant kill each other thats not cool guys. Also I shouldn’t have to tell you that” was probably the original “whatever the hell we want.” -The BETRAYAL when we learn it was Madi #1 and not Murphy. Even though we KNOW that it was. -Also Nigel (Nygel?) is basically terrible. -This is when Bellamy is in his first months of fatherhood, its totes ok he made some mistakes…Also he probably didn't think he had to tell Charlotte not to actually kill people. -Dude, Kane still sucks right now. -“you can’t just kill someone to make yourself feel better!” She's not wrong though… -Vera Kane was a gem. I mean she was a looney tune, but a gem! -What is with everybody’s obsession with chess on this show? -I love that Kane is still defending Abby even though he's currently evil!Kane. -Its funny to think what would have happened if Abby had gone down with Raven. -Bellamy didn't think this one through- probably because he was thinking with his heart and not his head…I’m just saying -Literally when Bell says “So help me god if you say the people have a right to decide…” its the exact same tone as “If this is another one of those moments where you tell me to use my head…” and both times he’s wrong about what she’s going to say. -I feel like there were about 5 times in the first season where i was SURE it was the last we’d see of Murphy. but nah, he’s still kicking, and thank god! -poor Monty, he tried his best! -Octavia and Jasper were so adorable. I miss them. -also Monty’s stealthy thumbs up after Octavia kisses Jasper is MY FAVORITE THING. Monty is the greatest. he just is. -Reason number 75 Finn sucks: his melodramatic break down, he is being ridiculous. He is essentially freaking out because he thinks Raven is going to die so his solution  is to sleep with somebody else, because that makes all the sense. Finn, why are you so terrible?!

WHEW, that episode was a doozy. We have now introduced the Bellarke leadership/mom&dad dynamic. Raven is currently heading towards earth (and heading towards the most CW of dramatic situations). Abby has been arrested (again), Monty has fried all the wrist bands and Murphy has gone full Roan (get it? because he’s banished, just like Roan. Whatever, I thought it was funny). So much happened, what will come of all of this?!! Who knows?! (um, spoiler alert: WE know, because its 2017 not 2013. BUT lets just for the sake of this pretend we DON’T know).

TOTALS: number of times I yelled at Charlotte aka Madi #1 on the screen: at least 25. Girl cant just kill everybody whenever she wants. number of times I rolled my eyes at Finn: 2383792 and counting. number of people that are as smart as Raven and Monty: Zero. They are just geniuses guys. I don’t make the rules. FINAL VERDICT: 4.5 colored pencils out of 5 colored pencils. until next time, may we meet again, -JRWT
