“This album is unbelievable,“ Spencer says. "I know why she waited three years, because she’s been in the lab cookin’ a freakin’ Picasso here. She just smoked all her other albums. This is the Taylor I’ve always wanted her to come out and be. You can just feel she doesn’t care anymore what people think…I just wish the concert was tonight. I actually had a dream last night that I was in the club with no shirt on in pretty much booty shorts, they were so small, and Heidi was there, Gunner was there, and I had Mophie chargers all around because I was doing so much Snap content dancing in the club to all the songs. I rarely dream so that’s how powerful this album was.”
Spencer says he’s always been interested in Taylor’s relationships with her fellow high-profile celebrities (and he loves “Style” and “Out of the Woods” from 1989), but the Reputation singles have been speaking to him on a different level. “So much of her music relates to how I felt with my experience in fame and pop culture,” he explains. “Season two of The Hills, I was loved, people were taking photos of me, people were saying I was the best part of the show. The second the edit and the narrative and the media and the show changed, like it did with Taylor, all of a sudden I’m this liar, this bad person, so I relate so much to Taylor’s journey.” Here, Spencer gives his track-by-track review of Reputation.
