William and Emma meet again -  Victorian Romance Emma

This is a superb Seinen manga. Not only is the artwork stunning, but the storyline is so simple, yet so well written. It takes place in late 19th century England (perhaps 1895) and is about a maid and wealthy young man who fall in love, despite difference in social classes.

It is very historically researched, the detail is perfect; characters, traits and lifestyles are reflective of the time, and all 10 volumes (the last is an extra that completes the story) are very well paced, and keeps the story moving.

This is one of the best romance mangas I have ever read, and one of the best mangas period.

If you’re sick of unrealistic mangas with immature, annoying teenagers and petty, silly conflicts not worth the time of day - this is for you. Do yourself a favor and read it, and also check out the author’s other work - A Bride’s Story. Another great, ongoing tale.

if you are a young thing i have one piece of advice for you:

being enthusiastic and happy about things you love is more important than being apathetic and snide. you will go so much farther in life spending energy on and talking about something you love than wasting energy on only complaining about or making fun of something you don’t. 

don’t focus on mocking others for being genuinely excited about something. focus on the things and people you love.

i’m really dumbfounded that i never realized skin colour is literally just caused by being closer to or farther from the equator and the resulting sun exposure and skin darkening

actually, its an adaptation. natural selection. people with darker skin are selected for in areas near the equator, where the melanin that causes the darker color protects them from radiation and protects them from skin cancer and other health defects, and because they are healthier they can pass on that trait more. people near the poles have lighter skin because it allows them absorb more of the limited sunlight to convert to vitamin d.
