SMOKER in ONE PIECE 2.01
There’s a trend currently circulating on Brazilian TikTok that deserves attention.
In these videos, creators stage romantic approaches, like asking someone out or proposing, followed by the caption “training in case she says no” or something similar. After that, they act out exaggerated reactions to rejection, often involving aggression such as punching objects, mimicking fights, or even simulating attacks with knives.
While some may frame this as humor, it does not exist in a vacuum. It reflects and reinforces a very real problem.
Brazil is currently facing record levels of gender-based violence. In 2025 alone, 1,470 women were killed in femicides, according to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the highest number ever recorded in the country, surpassing even the previous year. On average, that means four women were murdered every single day.
When rejection is portrayed as something that justifies anger or violence, even “as a joke,” it normalizes harmful behavior. It feeds into a culture where women’s autonomy is not respected and where saying “no” can be perceived as a provocation rather than a basic right.
This kind of “joke” is not harmless. It contributes to a broader environment that trivializes violence and, in some cases, can escalate into real-world harm.
It is important to question what we normalize, what we laugh at, and what we choose to amplify.
God help this man.

Thank you for that fine forensic analysis, Mr. Bodine. Of course the experience of it was... Somewhat different.
