The Promised Land scene comes *AFTER* Tifa’s scenes (lifestream sequence/variable Highwind). Therefore, Cloud x Aerith is #endgame. Just like when Cloud rides his motorcycle around flower fields at the end of Advent Children with Aerith in them. Aerith is the ending scene in both FFVII & AC.

Cloud is shown seeking Aerith at the end of both installments, which is why Tifa is not only listed as Cloud’s “childhood friend” in DoC, but causes Tifa to be forever jealous of Cloud and Aerith’s relationship.

Symbolism matters.

Aerith is #endgame in both FFVII & AC. Even Tifa knows Cloud will always be on a quest to find and be with his beloved Flower Girl.

Cecil refers to Rosa as his  “大切な人“  (“precious person”) just as Cloud referred to Aerith as his “大切な人“ (”precious person”) in World of Final Fantasy. 

Eiko also refers to Rosa as “セシルの恋人“ (”Cecil’s lover”), just as Cloud is identified as Aerith’s “ 恋人“ (”lover”) in the “Case of Lifestream” novel. 

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that either of these facts for clerith means “nothing”.
