Can you take care of a child?
Kids kinda freak me out, especially babies. They’re so little, and innocent. But I’m not terrible at taking care of them.
Sorry, did that make sense?
TEXT | BROTHER DEAREST
BEN: Oh! Got it, that's cool too. I mean, it'll be crowded and hot and noisy, I'm sure, it's definitely not for everyone. I just don't get to skip things like this very often, but I'll have fun, and you and Lucas will, too. Being not there, I mean.
BEN: I fall asleep at my desk most days as it is :-p I think becoming a master archer is a lost cause, but maybe I'll learn a little more than I know now someday.
JULIET: I can ask him if he wants to come? If you want. I don't want to upset anyone.
JULIET: BEN! You need sleep as well, proper bed sleep.
JULIET: Is there anything I can do to help?
TEXT | BROTHER DEAREST
BEN: Okay, I trust you.
BEN: On a happier note, you're going to Westerly tomorrow, right? Save me a seat in the stands so we can diplomatically not cheer for anyone specific together and secretly with that dad had given us bows and arrows at age three while we do?
JULIET: I trust you too.
JULIET: Actually... Lucas asked me to stay in with him tomorrow? I was planning on skipping it. Although, I will miss the badassness of the archery competition. I've always wished I was that cool.
JULIET: It's not too late to learn, Benny! You could do it.
TEXT || LUCIET
LUCAS: I wasn’t sure if you were wanting to go to the Westerly thing in a couple weeks or not. I know it’s still a ways away but you know how quickly these things come up, figured it was best to make plans now.
LUCAS: But how about we skip it? Stay in instead.
JULIET: I wasn't planning on going.
JULIET: Movie marathon?

Lucas stalled, caught between wanting to make sure she actually ate something and giving her the benefit of the doubt. The look on her face gave him pause, making him wonder if maybe things weren’t as alright as she wanted him to think. Or maybe he was thinking into it too much. Part of him wanted to ask just to be sure, he’d missed the signs before it was likely he would again. But things were different now, they had grown. She knew she could count on him and could tell him anything… didnt she?
He nodded, softly kissing her forehead before heading to make her a container. “Quiche au fromage,” he said in response to her earlier question. Lucas looked back over at her, still uncertain. “Jules, I worry about you… are you sure you’re alright?”
Juliet saw the uncertainty on his face, felt it in the air. She wanted nothing more than to let him hold her and tell him the truth. That it was getting hard again, the world was slowly dragging on her and it was all so terrible and real. Before, she could pretend it wasn’t real. But now, Juliet told people how she actually felt. Her stomach growled, loudly at the sound of quiche au fromage.
“I don’t know. I feel like I’ve ballooned, and I’m sure I haven’t-- Ben doesn’t think I have-- and I dunno. Do you ever just feel ugly? Like, the bits and parts you were given with look all so silly put together on your stupid face?”
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by all of Juliet's issues?
Everyone has issues. It wouldn’t be fair for me to get upset just because hers are a little different than everyone else’s.
@julietflorian
Private: Y’know, if it ever gets to be too much... I’d understand.
I want what’s best for you as well, and if I’m ever not that I totally get it.

Sophie watched in anticipation over what the other felt about her cookies. She had tried a dozen of them already so she was sort of used to the flavor. “Thank you. And thank you for trying one. I appreciate it.” Sophie said with a smile. She was happy to see that at least her cookies could be appreciated in her friends time of sadness. “You’re allowed to not be doing well, Jules. They aren’t disappointed in you. They just want you to be happy. I just don’t think any of them realize how hard it is to just be happy again. It’ll take you time. Don’t worry so much about disappointing them because even at your worst, you aren’t a disappointment Jules.”
“It’s not a problem. They’re super yummy... God, it’s been forever since I’ve had sweets.” She touched her stomach, before letting her hand drop, “I didn’t realize how hard it was. I was good, but... I don’t think I am anymore. And telling Ben-- Beast, telling Ben and Len and Lucas is so hard. Especially Lucas. He loves me so much, and I don’t know how he does.” Juliet sighed, “But, I’m talking too much. Can I have another cookie?”

His hand hung over the spatula, his argument about how she needed to eat going unsaid when she pressed her lips to his. For a moment he let himself get lost in her touch, pulling her waist towards him as he took her in his arms. Only after a moment he pulled back, concern in his expression. “I don’t mind, really.” Lucas said, nodding back towards the pan. “But it really won’t be as good reheated. Sure you don’t want any?”
Juliet tilted her head, her stomach letting out a noise. She looked down, “I’m fine. I had a big lunch. And I’m sure it’ll be good reheated. What is it anyways?” She touched her forehead to his seeing the concern on his face, “Don’t worry. I’m doing good. I... I promise.”
(wndersoph)
Sophie watched Juliet with kind eyes. She took a bite of her cookie and smiled slightly. It was one of her best concoctions yet. Only better was the strawberry shortcake. “Thank you. And how are you doing?”
Juliet nibbled on the cookie, her mouth nearly watering at the taste of it. God, she hadn’t had sweets in so long. “This is really good, Sophie.” Her shoulders lifted and fell, “I’m alright. Not doing well, but I don’t wanna disappoint my family again.” Juliet paused, “Not that I know if they’re disappointed. I assume they are.”
TEXT | BROTHER DEAREST
BEN: I'm serious, Juliet. I'm really proud of you for going and getting help and all, but you don't have to come back and be perfect. I know that everybody slips up sometimes. If you ever need help, I don't want you to be afraid to ask for it. You don't have to hide anything from us this time.
JULIET: I'm okay, I promise.
(wndersoph:)
“Would you share a cookie with me?” Most of the time Sophie would’ve let it slide but a part of her wanted to make sure the other was eating. Even if it was sweets at least they could help her out a little. Sophie smiled kindly at Juliet, the other girl was so familiar to her that sometimes she forgot they weren’t related in the slightest. “Of course. Lucas is always a good critic to have. Tell him I’d like a full report later on how they tasted!”
“Um....” She couldn’t refuse that, “Sure.” She picked a double chocolate chip cookie, splitting it in half. Juliet handed the bigger half to Sophie, “Well... here it goes.” A soft smile. Everything was familiar with Sophie, which she needed. “I will let him know that you would like a critique.”
wndersoph:
“You can take as many as you’d like.” Sophie stated in her all too soft voice, holding out a basket full of cookies she had made. “I went a bit overboard and made far too many. There’s no way I’m going to be able to eat them all. Please. There’s strawberry shortcake, pumpkin spice, ginger snaps, and double chocolate chip.”
“Oh, I’m fine. Thank you though, Soph.” Juliet did want a cookie, but... well, she felt rather odd for not taking one. Sophie’s cookies were delectable, and delicious. “Can I get some to take to Lucas, though? Is that okay?”

BEN: It's okay to not be fine, you know.
JULIET: Uhhh... k.
DOG DAYS || LUCIET
lucasbelrose:
It wasn’t real, they’d found out that somehow a spell had been cast, but since the events of the festival Lucas felt horrible. He knew he didn’t need to, but he did. And maybe that was why he wanted this dinner so badly. As an apology for straying, even if unintentionally. He was glad that Juliet seemed to want to move past it, but he had to be able to forgive himself before they could. And he hadn’t yet. He turned at the sound of the door, signature lopsided smile in place as she greeted him. Immediately Lucas dropped what he was doing and crossed over to her, brushing his lips against her cheek briefly as he hugged her. “Hey,” he brushed her hair behind her ear before returning to the stove. “Hope you brought your appetite. Not to brag, but I think I’ve outdone myself this time.”
Juliet smiled even bigger at the touch of his lips on her cheek. “Hi.” Her hand went to her stomach, “Oh, I’m not hungry. I can just take it home for a leftover, honestly.” She wasn’t hungry, but it did smell really good, “You didn’t have to do this, y’know. I’d be fine with Nutella and banana sandwiches.” Which, were her favorite, “I’m sorry, I should have told you.” Her lips went to his, hoping he wouldn’t push it.
DOG DAYS || LUCIET
Juliet walked over to the kitchen, where Lucas was preparing them dinner. Though she wasn’t hungry, she didn’t want to not hang out with her boyfriend. After the weirdness that was King’s Day, all she wanted was some normal. Biting her nails that were already bitten, she opened the doors. “Hi, love.” A soft smile graced her face.

BEN: Jules, thinking that way's not healthy. Do you need me to find you someone else you can go talk to again? Or do you at least want to go see a regular doctor so they can reassure you that you're in a very healthy range?
BEN: We all do :-p
JULIET: NO. No. I'm fine. I'm fine, honestly.
JULIET: True.
