A Playful Array of Stacked Concrete Panels
City Hyde Park by Studio Gang reimagines the urban apartment building, bringing new options for living, recreation, and leisure to its full-block site—formerly a strip mall and under-used parking lot. Located at a busy commercial intersection near Lake Michigan and adjacent to a commuter rail stop, it is designed as a pedestrian-friendly hub that has a positive impact on its neighborhood.

Unveiled Michael Ryan Charters + Ranjit John Korah
Winner of the ChiDesign Competition (part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial) Charters and Korah proposed what could casually be summarized as a terracotta framework over a multi-story crystalline form of wooden vaults, but is actually something much more complex.
Unveiled proposes a new type of building for Chicago’s storied skyline; it celebrates novel building technologies that allow for inventive architectural opportunities, defining a place that serves not only the designers and students who use it each day, but the public as well by opening up generously to the city.

-Albert Camus. Libro: " El extranjero".
