I am the host of a primarily traumagenic P-DID system. Some alters formed through endogenic means, however. Our headcount varies greatly, especially due to system collapses.

also it's weird to require someone's experience be backed up by science for you to support them, btw.

if your first response to endogenics is "well, is THAT backed up by science?" you're a weirdo. you're using the exact same argument that queerphobes used and still use against queer people.

someone's experience should not immediately be interrogated. if someone's validity in your eyes is dictated by whether a psychologist can confirm their case or not, you are WEIRD.

one thing i noticed in anti-endo spaces, especially on tiktok, is that they simply refuse to listen. so many anti-endos are stuck in an echo chamber.

you'll ask them for a source in their argument, and they'll just redirect you to another tiktok of some anti-endo hating on endogenics. or you'll try genuinely reasoning their logic, and the entire argument that you get in return is "NUH UH"

System origin of the day ; Endogenic

Endogenic is an origin and umbrella term for all systems that are not completely traumagenic in origin. It often is the opposite to pathologized views of plurality, but the two can exist in harmony, even in the same system.

Endogenic systems are very often harassed for their origin of plurality, from those with differing views relating to how systemhood forms. It is the subject of almost all system discourse.

It is an endogenic origin.

Hi everyone. As many of you know, my mom passed away by suicide in April. It has been such a cruel time trying to recover from this loss. She was my best friend, caregiver and my everything.

The problem is my mom paid half of all the bills so I have fallen severely behind on everything (rent, food, household supplies, etc). After my mom passed, my employer basically forced me to resign as they would not give me the time off I did and still currently need to grieve her loss.

can we just focus on the hypocrisy of anti-willos saying that CDDs are "not just alter disorders," and yet they make it out to be just that.

i always see willogenics getting fakeclaimed because they're "trying to have a dissociative disorder" by having alters. people always completely disregard the ENTIRE DIAGNOSTIC CRITERIA and jump straight into attacking willos for "faking DID."

isn't that what you just argued against? isn't the focus of CDDs the complex dissociation, as the name might entail? isn't the entire point of your argument to say that CDDs aren't just having alters? and yet you turn around and make them out to be just that!

we need to discuss how CDDs were originally studied in order to explain a human experience that was clearly causing people distress, and therefore could possibly lead to some sort of treatment to better the lives of those afflicted with it, but for some reason people began to use it as a weapon against people who's plurality does not fit a CDD.

the study of plurality is not meant to fakeclaim endogenics. i can't believe this has to be said. when psychiatrists and clinical psychologists first began to study MPD (at the time), they weren't thinking, "Surely because this disorder exists and describes the experience of dissociated parts, of which is primarily caused by a coping mechanism in response to trauma... means that this can not happen in any other way."

the study of CDDs is not to say that any other cause of plurality is fake. your diagnosis is not proof against endogenics. psychology is not supposed to be used as a weapon. it's just there to explain and discover.

gonna get a bit syscourse-y here, but... recently noticed kind of a weird hypocrisy in anti-endo arguments and wanted to point it out to see if others agree

for extra context, i have DID and im pro-endo id say?? my mindset is basically just "i dont get it personally, but live ur life dude(s), its not my business and im not gonna tell u what u are / arent" because like. i find it super hard to believe that DID and OSDD-1 are the ONLY possible causes for systems LOL... also i will be using the terms endo / endogenic as umbrella terms for all plurality outside of DID / OSDD-1 throughout this post

ANYWAYS THOUGHH... most harshly anti-endo spaces (or at least those that are pro-recovery) really emphasise that DID and OSDD-1 are more than just "alter disorders", which i absolutely agree with! DID and OSDD-1 are both complex dissociative disorders that include identity alteration (alters) as a SYMPTOM, but the disorders both fundamentally involve dissociation and impairment in daily life to some extent

BUT... then they are also so quick to say that endos MUST have DID / OSDD-1 if they have alters... but what about all the other symptoms? most endos i have met do not experience dissociation or other DID / OSDD-1 symptoms. claiming someone MUST have DID / OSDD-1 because they have alters would kind of be reducing the disorders down to just "alter disorders", right?

plus, it seems to be entirely ignoring the fact that you can have a symptom of a disorder without having the disorder / being disordered... lets use ADHD as an example here since its the first thing to come to mind LOL, someone can have a short attention span or be distracted easily without inherently having ADHD. it would depend on the presence of other symptoms as well as degree of life impairment. this logic also applies to any other disorder ever... so why dont we apply the same logic to DID / OSDD-1?

most endos i see dont claim DID / OSDD-1, and the ones that do are generally mixed origins. if we apply the logic that symptom ≠ disorder and that DID / OSDD-1 are more than just "alter disorders", why would someone not be able to have alters without a dissociative disorder?
