This cutie is a macrophage, a white blood cell! She and the fluorescent Staphyloccoccus aureus were a gift for my labmate (and a good friend of mine). She is writing her incredible thesis on the mechanisms that Staphyloccoccus aureus uses to infect chicken macrophages. So I made two cuties so she can have a macrophage and a S .aureus smiling at her even when she’s not in the lab! :)

I know I’ve been absent for awhile but I have 51 good reasons why! =)
A very good friend of mine got married a weekend ago and she asked me to make her wedding favors, 51 sunflowers! And after several months here they are!!!
I used the incredible pattern by jhwinter as inspiration (I changed a few pieces so I would be able to make every sunflower on time)!
I’m really happy for the result and to be able to contribute with a sunny part to such and amazing day. =)

They were a gift for a colleague of mine that studies these infections. Aren’t they just adorable? I couldn´t resist to made her a bow (and N and H proteins with bright colors) and make him fluorescent green (I love GFP bacteria =) ).

The flames were made using a brush and it can be attached to the logs with a small fast snapper. :) It was on top of my fireplace for a couple of days and I couldn’t stop smiling every time he got in my line of sight :)

When I was asked to make a Spike (from Buffy, the vampire slayer TV show) I wasn’t expecting to be so excited with all the process. It was a challenge but also the perfect opportunity to turn on my sewing machine and to try the new cotton yarn that I bought a couple of months ago!

This sweet couple was a wedding gift for a “prince” and his adorable “witch”! It was a pleasure to make such an unconventional pair!
I realize that the new season of GOT is still a couple of months away, but I just couldn't resist!!! =D I just love this Jon Snow! I believe that if I had more time (it was an urgent order) I would just spend hours and hours adding more and more details until I got all GOT characters (maybe a couple of dragons?) =P.
