Beach Art Sam Dougados

It was from seeing a surf video which featured the artwork of a Californian, that Sam discovered this very particular art of a nonstandard dimension. This art, newly called arenaglyphe (Latin arena: sand and of Greek glyph to engrave) is very primary and basic in its nature: to make drawings on the sand with a staff or a rake. We have all probably had a go but in a lesser measure. The interest for him, on his favorite beach (the coast of Basques in Biarritz ), is the dimension which a fresco can take and therefore the impact which it can have on the walkers and swimmers. This art, called beach art, can be compared with street art where the artist takes possession of a common place to express his ideas and to call out to the passers-by.
