💿🕰️🎤 nowhere on earth i'd rather be: steve waiting for nancy which turns into nancy waiting for steve. s1 stancy to post s5.

SO HARD HAHA major respect to teachers everywhere. also lots of time to reflect on my asshole behavior as a student too hehe. it comes back around as my close personal friend justin timberlake says.

but it's also so rewarding! it takes months and months but the change is so real and showing up for the kids consistently brought out sides to them i hadn't even anticipated. idk. hard but good. so humbling too. no one will make you feel like a loser faster than middle schoolers! i loved them and they drove me crazy.

all done now though. starting a new program in the fall!! back to being a student!!!

oh the end of august is GORGEOUS and i love that it's 5 minutes haha, the first time i listened i was like wait this is still the same song haha. late august angst!!!!! and a pointless night!!!!!!!!! the feeling of being alive oh how lovely <3 and gut wrenching <3

haircut personally took me out too. very dorothea coded. UGH coming back but not being the same person is SO painful but also such an interesting topic and i love how he's explored it in this album/been so open with identity over time. [haha obviously i could relate this all to stancy but it's just so refreshing to have someone articulate it]

willing and able predictably killed me as well </3 knowing that if you spend the night YOU BOTH CAN FIND THAT BONE TO PICK AND IT WILL BE SO MESSY BUT IT'S STILL AN EXPRESSION OF MESSY LOVE AGH

we go way back is also a personal fav. idk how he captures how a long relationship is the sum of little things that change you over time and the falsetto hurts SO GOOD!!!!! he is a beautiful lyricist and i could go on and on and on.

noah kahan's the great divide is like. what if you died and came back wrong but the "death" was you leaving your hometown and the "came back wrong" is the change in the way everyone, including your own parents, perceives you even when you do return and the relationships that have been soured by your absence

what strikes me about “all of this to say, i hope you’re okay” is that it foretells the album’s later events in that, in one reading anyway, she loved someone so much that she died for them to be okay. so long london, fresh out the slammer, and chloe et al are three examples off the top of my head that describe a lover struggling emotionally, and her struggling to help them not struggle. she sacrificed herself to try to make them love her, and it didn’t work. so she tried harder. “i hope you’re okay,” she said again and again and again. and then, eventually, so quietly that no one bothered to hear: “but you’re the reason.”

i think the album is about, on some level, reckoning with wanting someone to be okay and also knowing they’re the reason you’re not.

literally because season 4 was a beautiful beacon of coming back together better than before and then season 5 sucked ass haha LIKE the more i think about the whiplash between the two, the more sad it is!!!!!!! and we were so excited 💔 and different people before thanksgiving 2025, rip that version of me, miss her

but fr, there were so many fun headcanons and amazing brainstorms and predictions that were flying around and stancy seemed like it could be so beautiful!! and then it wasn't!!! and it hurts!!!! even though we still have ao3 shoutout to the insane stancy fics i have read u guys r unreal 😔🙏
