My diagnoses are major depressive disorder, borderline personality disorder, and adhd but I may also meet the criteria for asd and cptsd. To anyone who needs to hear this- “trauma” just means anything that causes a person to feel extreme emotional distress that continually affects them even after the event or trigger has passed. It’s not actually about WHAT happened; it’s about how it affected you. Just because you weren’t beat or starved doesn’t mean you weren’t traumatized. If it made you feel very afraid, anxious, upset, sad, hurt, unsafe, etc, even after it wasn’t happening anymore, it traumatized you. If you find yourself with lingering anxiety and emotional instability related to your childhood, you were traumatized. You deserve to feel your pain and tend to your wounds no matter what caused them. Nobody can really judge or understand what you went through but you. Take care and be kind to your mind ☀️🫶

Maybe I’m not broken or wounded, I’m just stuck in the patterns of thought and behavior that formed when i was a child and if i work really hard maybe i can actually escape those patterns and live an existence free from constant suffering. Idk tho. Hopefully
