percy being so soft spoken and quiet and introverted and kids at camp with rough home lives (basically all of them in some way, shape, or form) finding peace and quiet with percy. there’s a base level of hero worship with the way people talk about him and his quests and feats, but then they actually meet him and he’s so down to earth and they can just sit in silence with him and do their own thing together and it’s like sitting on the shore letting the water lap at their feet as they breathe silently. for as much of a force of nature as he is, percy’s peace and serenity is unmatched.

anyway. we should talk more about the multiple minor sea gods/children of poseidon there are with powers of prophecy, and that some sources state that poseidon was one of the gods who presided over the oracle of delphi before handing it over to apollo, and the fact that percy was the one to inadvertently find the NEXT oracle of delphi, and how on a meta level that all so beautifully explains why percy has insanely vivid and near prescient dreams compared to other demigods, and that kronos directly attributes it to his father's nature, which goes back to the question of why beings of the sea are associated with prophecy in the first place. but I know rick never thought that hard about it so I'll shut the fuck up now!!
