"i would not truly understand the meaning of the stirring i felt in my heart, until quite some time later" he says after hearing another vampire has "claimed" the man before he could and left a mark of possession. "that day on la baleine i'm glad the man i meet called himself a vampire specialist, not a chasseur" he states after he overhears the man saying that he can't believe there can be someone who could ever honestly love a person like him. "of course i still don't like you or anything" he adds because he knows the man reacts badly to overt affection, but he understand that's not something anyone would say to someone unlovable.
