Oh I just remembered this au... uhn
Jean Moreau on the sunshine court
Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie have led me places I wouldn't go with a g*n to my head [I say as I press play on Ember and Ice and thank them for it]
"I still think you should quit [smoking]"
"What would you give me if I did?"
It was stupid, but this summer was supposed to be different. Belly should do something, get over Conrad for good. He wouldn't accept it anyway, so it would be easier to understand that he doesn't want her. "Well, you'd get to do anything you want to me"
He looked at her, arching his eyebrows.
Yeah, stupid. She just started swimming away, putting distance between them, when she heard "Yeah, okay. Why not?
And just like that, we have Bonrad and a bad coping mechanisms starting ✨️✨️
Neil Josten as f1 driver
He left bloody fingerprints on the rock, but there was something satisfying about that.
I was here. I exist. I’m alive, because I bleed.
He hadn’t stopped being thankful for his body. Hello, Adam Parrish’s formerly chapped hands, I’m happy to have you.
Hiccup runs away
The day before the final test, Hiccup ran.
He packed some clothes, two knives, and some food. He wrote a small letter to his father, saying he was sorry — sorry for not being Viking enough, for being too Hiccup.
At the forge, the gods must have blessed him. Gobber wasn’t there, by some miracle, so rapidly he grabbed just enough tools to fix Toothless’s tail.
Then, he fled to the woods, never looking back, trying to make himself smaller than he was, if that was even possible. He didn’t want to look too much, or he might do something stupid, like deciding to stay.
He found Toothless sleeping, blending into the dark. The dragon woke up as he came closer, giving him a confused look before understanding what was happening. Hiccup continued to feel fascinated by how smart these magnificent creatures were.
Toothless let him attach his belongings to the saddle mechanism. And just like that, they flew, the night covering them like a cloak.
But they had one more stop before leaving.
Toothless was a silent creature, so no Viking noticed when they landed beside the dark arena. Hiccup managed to open the gate with Toothless’s help, which released a small shot at the lock. Inside, there was no challenge to releasing the dragons. Why would anyone guard dragons who were destined to die? Who would even be crazy enough to set them free? Well...
They were scared, shrunken into the corners of their cells. Their eyes were angry, but their bodies seemed tired. How ironic —those creatures so enormous, so feared— were afraid of small, terrified humans.
He opened cell after cell, Toothless at his side like a guard dog, inspecting each dragon. Telling them they were in no danger. Telling them not to hurt Hiccup.
The dragons didn’t attack. Maybe they remembered him. Or maybe they just didn’t see him as a worthwhile snack.
One by one, they started to emerge. Hiccup let out a shaky breath when they surrounded him. He wondered if they were trying to understand what was happening.
“Okay, yeah,” he smiled. At least he wasn’t eaten. “Let’s go. You’re free now.”
Hiccup couldn’t kill a dragon. And if he didn’t —if he left them there— someone else would. The cruelty would continue, again and again, until some young Viking managed to finish the job.
He knew they would eventually find more dragons and imprison them again. But at least these four would be free.
So they left the arena, Toothless leading them out of the arena, out of Berk.
The dragons followed behind. Hiccup thought they would disperse, but they kept following him. Probably because they had nowhere else to go, no place of their own.
Suddenly, they were bathed in a warm light as the Monstrous Nightmare lit its body with flames. In the distance, a warning sounded. Screams began. But they were far enough away not to care.
His stomach dropped. Tears stung in his eyes. He was leaving —for the first time— and he didn’t plan to come back.
Stoick would be so disappointed. But that was better than him finding out his son had befriended a dragon, released them, saw them as equals.
He didn’t know where to go, so he let Toothless guide them, trusting him to find a safe place. The other dragons continued to follow from a distance, as if they weren’t sure they were welcome.
Hiccup let his body rest on Toothless’s back, watching the sky above them. He didn’t know what to do, or how he’d survive, but he felt lighter than he had ever felt in Berk.
Closing his eyes, he focused on the wind, how it caressed his face, how cool it was in the late night.
There had to be someone else out there; someone who saw the beauty in dragons, their kindness.
And he would find them.
They would be okay.
Something about Jack counting Hiccup's freckles – because they are everywhere! – and facing all the scars he has. Deep cups, white lines, plenty of burnt skin. He frowns, wanting to know the reason why he got each one of those.
Hiccup is focused, putting all his thoughts on the paper, so Jack doesn't bother asking. He just kisses each of the marks – scars, and freckles –, making the man in front of him tremble. His fingers caressing his back with love, leaving little snow patterns.
When Jack finally reaches his shoulders, kissing the spot where his skin is soft and sensitive, Hiccup finally drops the pencil, looking a him with a kind smile. All he can think when Hiccup kisses him is that it's okay that he doesn't know the stories behind each scar, will be there to prevent further ones, and take care of him when new ones come.
Hiccup Haddock, an adventurer, an inventor, a free soul who traveled to places so far away, became the leader of a village at the age of 20. All the responsibility he didn't want was now on his shoulders.
He was ripped from his life, had lost his dad hours ago. And his whole life changed.
I know he came to terms with it. His whole life he was being trained to it. I know he loves his people, his wife, and children. But sometimes I wonder if he thinks anout how different could have been: if Stoick was alive, if Toothless could have stayed.
He came to terms with it, but sometimes, he wonders. He misses the wind on his face, the freedom of flying. And then, he gets out of bed to a new day being chief.
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet (Wayfarers #1)
The truth is, Rosemary, that you are capable of anything. Good or bad. You always have been, and you always will be.
Oh, to be Hiccup walking with his daughter through the woods, when she finds a little bird on the dirty ground. She looks at it, observing, trying to know what to do. With a little voice, she asks "Can we help him?".
Hiccup is filled with nostalgia within seconds, being back in a simpler time, where his father was invincible and the strongest man alive. He remembered saying the same thing, almost begging his father for another option besides ending it. Because that couldn't be the only option.
The sight his father gave was felt in his bones. The anxiety he felt, in his stomach doing strange things while his father looked at the bird.
When he agreed, Hiccup felt lighter. Hope that there was more to choose.
He took care of the little bird for two weeks before getting was finally cured, and he remembered his father's face when they released the animal back to nature. It was soft, almost like he was happy because of it.
His father's words when they took the bird in were carved in his bones, though. What probably made him who he was.
He remembered Toothless, the first time he saw him. Haggard, trapped, lost. And it was his fault. He did that to him – and he'd always regret that, even after coming to terms with it. First, we take responsibility.
He worked so hard to find a way to fix his mistake, but when he did and Toothless still stayed, he understood what his father actually meant.
Then, you care for him. The nights they passed with each other, little moments of care between Hiccup and Toothless. They were always caring for each other, with little and simple gifts, acts. A love forged between them.
Hiccup passed almost 6 years with Toothless, but it felt so much more. A lifetime, even. His presence constant, everywhere he went, there he was. He couldn’t talk, but they communicated better than most talking creatures did.
And, finally, you return it to the wild. But Toothless couldn't stay. Hiccup knew it even before all the chaos came to berk and they had to run. Even though he denied it, he knew it for so long.
He wanted to have faith, humanity could change. Berk did, his father did. But there was always someone looking for war, power. And the dragons always ended up hurt, slaves, or killed by them.
He did everything he could to find a way for Toothless to fly on his own. Working exhaustively until it worked.
When he last hugged Toothless, he almost didn't let it go. He felt his warmth, his claws digging into his shoulders like he also didn't want it. But it was for the best. Hiccup cared for him so much, loved him so deeply, that if his safety was in letting him go, he was willing to make it happen.
It felt like someone had stabbed him when he watched Toothless flying away. A deep cut that'd never close.
Hiccup felt dizzy with all those memories. Took a deep breath, one, two times, and finally, knelt near his daughter.
He put his hand on her shoulder, pressed slightly while he looked at the little animal, and then back to her. Oh, how he wished his father could meet her. How he longed for Toothless to get to know her.
But now, all he could do was pass on their teachings.
"Yeah, can you get me a stick?"
please put emphasis on platonic soulmates in media. on unconditional love and loyalty based off of pure friendship. on heart wrenching breakups between best friends that change their lives. on knowing someone else better than they know themselves. on being a shining light for each other and finding happiness in the darkest places. on fighting side by side until the end, because a lover may visit your grave but your best friend will be in there with you
I love how melancholic Rand, Mat and Pierre relationship is. They have been friends for so long, they've known each other basically their whole life. But they can't continue being friends, everything is falling apart. Rand is getting a little bit more insane each day, he can't trust his plans to anyone. He has to push them away, because he is the Dragon Reborn and he is a danger, he has a path to follow.
And that's not only with the boys, but everyone. He can't allow himself to relax, to trust. Ewgene is going to be Aes Sedai, and is too consumed by their (Tar Valon) wishes already, as much as the other girls. He can't trust them either.
Rand is always losing those who are important to him, and he can't do anything because is probably a consequence of using the One Power. And this distance from human interaction is (probably) also intensifying his insanity.
FUCK. HELENA. AND. RAMON. DIAZ.
I’m gonna blame it on the fact that English is my first language but I don’t know words which could express how deeply I hate the Diaz parents, how much I resent them and despise them wholeheartedly because they are actually out there doing their worst, day after day, without giving a single fuck about their own son.
