i was surprised to see heaven in your eyes i never once was treated right you were what's missing in my life

you were sitting in your boyfriend's car, being extra careful not to get anything dirty or damage it. but felix noticed this and asked, “you're a little extra jumpy today, everything alright?” “huh- oh,” you responded. “yeah i-i'm ok, i just don't want to dirty your car.” he gave you a look of slight confusion, then just chuckled. “i can just clean up later! it's fine!” he exclaimed. you looked at him confused, but relieved at how calm he was.

when the two of you arrived at his house, he held your hand as he guided you inside. his mother greeted you both with a warm smile. still holding your hand, felix showed you around his house. you got to the kitchen, ready to sit down and eat.

your hand slipped as you tried to grab a plate, and you dropped it, shattering the glass. you gasped and started tearing up. how could you mess up that badly? what if felix would hate you for this? would they ever let you back at their house? you and felix's mother both kneeled down to clean it up. “i'm so sorry! i can replace it!” you said, quickly gathering the broken pieces. “oh no no, it's quite alright!” she reponded. “i'll clean up and get you a different plate!”

as you wiped your tears, felix took your hand and dragged you to the other room. “why are you so freaked out? are you ok?” he asked, concern written all over his face. it was then that he noticed something around your wrist. “(name), what's-” he started while gently taking your hand in his, before realization hit. you tried to say something, but no words slipped out.

felix's expression fell numb. “i've had... bad experiences with things like this.” you mumbled. your boyfriend was still silent, gazing at your arm. “i know it's not the healthiest coping mechanism, but-” felix interrupted you with a tight hug. tears starting to fall, you hugged back. he placed a soft kiss to your cheek. “it's ok baby,” he said. “you're safe here.”
