When the founding fathers wrote that we have a right to bear arms they had one round in a gun that took several minutes to reload. They could not ban guns in a country they had just armed to defeat Britain and not be overthrown by the country they created.
They would never have justified what the government has decided now, nor what the politicians decided the first time a child was shot because of a “right to bear arms.”
Those who say someone who has decided to commit an act will do it regardless, you’re right. But harder access is a huge deterrent unless you’re hellbent. There are clear patterns that say someone is not getting a gun for a collection and there is no need for 600 rounds per minute. Military grade weapons belong in the military.
It’s time for our country to take action regardless. We are way past hellbent.
