Peabody Essex Museum, Massachusetts: It is the oldest museum in the US. It has more than 30 galleries inside. It displays artifacts from all over the world and holds the biggest collection of nautical paintings.

Hofbrauhaus, Munich: This is Munich's most famous beer hall. It is where tourists most often head to, probably due to the fact that the staff hare can speak different languages.

Arch of Galerius, Thessaloniki: Built in 305 A.D. to celebrate Galerius' victory over the Persians.

Zunfthaus Zur Meisen, Zurich: This old house serves as an extension to the Swiss National Museum. Main exhibits are of 18 century Swiss ceramics and porcelains. It was built in 1752.

The Salisbury, Covent Garden: This is a well preserved Victorian pub in London. It has etched and engraved windows, bronze statues and seats with cushions of red velvet, all under a lincrusta ceiling.

Tjoloholm Castle, Kungsbacka: An English Tudor style mansion that was completed in 1904. James Fredrik Dickson, the original owner, never got to see the complete castle because he died shortly after construction has started.

F Pettinaroli, Milan: This shop has been selling hand made stationery, gift items greeting cards and other writing accessories since 1881. They also sell these personalized hard bound books where one can write down notes, recipes, etc.

Cookie Jar House, Glendora: It was built in 1947 and was supposed to be the first in a village full of cookie  jar houses.  The idea didn't click. The house has three floors and has a winding staircase in the center. There's also a widow's walk on the roof.

Galata Tower, Istanbul: Up in here, one can see a perfect view of Istanbul. It stands 62 m high and has been standing there since 1348.

Museo Nazionale del Bargello, Florence: Inside are fine sculptures created during the Renaissance. Donatello's John the Baptist and David are here.

Van  Gogh Museum, Amsterdam: Home to the world's largest collection of Van Gogh paintings, drawings as well as letter. It has four floors and on the third floor is an array of impressionist paintings like the works of Monet, Gaugin and Pissarro.

Pratt Museum, Homer: A museum of Natural History in Alaska. It helped to develop the technology of filming animals without disturbing them with the use of remote control cameras. Guests in this museum can operate camera controls while watching animals such as birds and bears.It also houses a saltwater aquarium for local marine life.

Filbert Street Steps, San Francisco: It has 377 steps and goes through flower gardens and some of the city's old houses. Located at the east side of Telegraph Hill.

Castelo Dos Mouros, Sintra: The Castle of the Moors.Built in 750 A.D. It was taken  by the Scandinavian Crusaders from the Moors in 1147. Attempts to restore it years later failed,leaving it as it was: ruins. From the royal tower, one can see a view of Sintra and the Atlantic Coast

Icehotel, Kiruna: Every year,this hotel is constructed with 4,000 tons of ice and 30,000 tons of snow.This huge igloo has 60 rooms. Local as well as guest artists from all over Sweden are recruited to construct the hotel, decorate the suites and make ice furniture.  This starts by the end of October and opens by mid-December. By spring, the whole hotel melts and turns into a huge puddle of water.

Goldfield Ghost Town, Arizona: A wild west themed town that is a reconstructed gold mining town of the 1890s.

Karlstejn Castle, Prague: Built by Charles IV in 1348 to protect the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Empire. It once held the king's jewels but over the years changes took place and some of the rooms lie closed due to vandalism.
