Book keeper

Oli heard the small bell that signalled the entrance of a new visitor. He climbed down the ladder he had been using to reorganize the books on the highest section of the library and darted over to greet them. Running the place by himself wasn’t easy.
“We do. We have something on almost everything. Follow me.”, he began to lead Jacob through a labyrinth of books until he found the section that the visitor had requested. “This entire case from here to here,” he specified the length and width of the section, although it was already labelled, “Is for film-related books. Hope you find something that you’re interested in!”
Jacob smiled. “Many thanks, chap!” He tipped his hat in gratitude, as he scanned through the books.
Oliver smiled back at him and wandered off for a sort time to finish the organising that he’d left incompleted. It was easy for him to become distracted when a customer walked in. Someone actually borrowing a book, however, was rather rare.
The library was fashioned like one of the ancient libraries in Rome or similar places, at least on the inside. It could even be considered intimidating but Oliver found himself at home there. He sat down on one of the many chairs, picking up a random book to pass the time.
Jacob flipped through the pages of a historical book in the film section. He had a small smile on face, and would quietly chuckle to himself once in a while. Once he'd scanned through the books, he finally found one that captured his attention. As he carefully pulled it off the shelf, he pulled a small pocket watch out of his navy blue vest. He glanced at it, checking the time. Sliding the watch back into his pocket, he walked up to the counter.
