There is a literal weight on my sternum right now, like a concrete slab i’ve been carrying around for weeks, but i can’t seem to open my mouth and let any of it out. every time i try to put the feelings into words, they just get stuck in my throat, choking me.

they love the idea of caring, right up until it actually requires them to show up. they’ll say all the right, pretty words when there's a screen between you, but the second things get real or heavy, they hit the eject button and vanish.

it's the cowardice that hurts the most. they talk a big game about being there for you, but they're so terrified of actual accountability or facing the reality of what they've done that they just run. they leave you standing there holding all this emotional weight alone, while they hide out somewhere, too scared to even look you in the eye and admit they're a flight risk.
