Bringing this to attention because I had just recently found this out late last night.
A popular creator by the name of Yeloenk recently did a good video that brings awareness to this fact, video is stated right here. Please go get this out if you can it not only explains it well and clearly, but provides actual proof of the claim itself.
(not at anon) But please, to everyone wanting to also spread awareness of this fact we need to keep and mind, that not everyone was/is aware of this before this information got dropped. Because I definitely wasn't, goth definitely wasn't an au that I would've chosen to dive into the canon works of because I didn't think much of it at first.
I will no longer be drawing Poth as from now on, so please do not request it. I am already upset that when I decide to actually lock in on a ship piece that I ended up being super proud of, only to find out the ship is canonically proship.
Some of my designs for the sanses are not fully associated, or associated at all with their source works. (For example Cupid/Amor, who is my personalized Lust sans redesign) The only thing I'm really glad about is the way I draw both of them stray far away enough from their original designs. So I can just say Goth is mine now/j. All though, jokes aside I would like to bring the topic of fandom reclamation to the table. The only reason I and many come to like Goth is because of the fandom portrayal of Goth over the years, peoples design and ideas bringing him to life as a character instead of his actual canon sources. I like the idea of Goth in my head much less than the actual him. Due to not consuming canon sources Ive found myself developing and morphing a completely different character in my head all together, which I assume most of us have also done ourselves.
But even if we as a fandom collectively decide to do this, I am still going to be taking my distance with the character, and ceasing from drawing the ship all together. I am going to be linking this post underneath my most recent Goth x Palette artwork, so people are aware I DO NOT SUPPORT THAT SHIT.
