c!Punz who’s a skeleton hybrid, but because humans already have skeletons, he just looks like a normal guy. Like he’s good with a bow and more prone to sunburning. That’s it.

i feel like a lot of c!tommy's interactions with people start making a lot more sense when you look at him as an abused, traumatized teenager who desires both safety and self-ownership over everything else and whose understanding of love and relationships and life and everything, really, is inextricable from c!wilbur

c!tommy loves people like he owns them, and like that ownership means he gets to control them and punish them and demand from them a kind of loyalty that defines anything outside of his approval as betrayal. it makes perfect sense why he thinks this is what it means to love someone: he's had to live his whole life reconciling c!wilbur loving him so much it suffocates them both with c!wilbur with c!wilbur hurting him.

to c!wilbur it may as well be that love excuses the harm he caused. he loves c!tommy and he cares about him, and he knows the world will eat soft, naive, empathetic c!tommy alive if someone doesn't teach him how power works. he'll get himself killed if he keeps being brash and impulsive and loud, and c!wilbur is doing a good thing teaching him how to be obedient on the face of rightful authority. his eagerness to be good will only result in others taking advantage of him, so c!wilbur is doing him a favor by teaching how to lie and cheat and treat anyone ever telling him off for his behavior as a threat.

and maybe it's easy to think this is also how c!tommy sees things, more or less. that c!tommy is making a deliberate choice to act the way he does, and understands exactly what he's doing, and he's doing it with the excuse that love or a desire for safety is more important than whatever harm he caused. that he believes himself and his desires to be more important than everyone else.

but c!tommy is not the adult in this relationship. c!tommy is sixteen. he is just discovering who he is and what he wants and what he believes in instead of just repeating what he's been told by adults he trusts. he wants to have the freedom to make his own decisions and he wants to have someone with enough life experience to tell him what the answer is when he's faced with something he's never seen before so that he can be safe.

what c!tommy gets is a man who meets him as a child, names him after British slang for soldier and then years later asks to be called general.

This also explains some of the things he says about c!dream and c!techno. Even tho c!dream wasn't acting like that at the start and only started acting more like it once c!wilbur (and c!tommy) stuffed him into a metaphorical box and he started faking it/loosing it. And c! techno just never acted like what c!tommy said at all. Because c!wilbur's way is the only way he knows to interpret authority figures actions and motivation, even when that way of seeing things is just flat out wrong for the situation.

ctechno completely ruins cdream's intimidation visits by throwing him into the snow ctommy doesn't know why it feels like ctechno is breaking some law but it does

Noticed Punz staring at the group of L’manberg people in their matching skins with such longing while complimenting them and it really just reminded me of his words in the finale.

He just wanted to play along, get a matching skin and be part of the nation too, but he was American and so he was excluded, left out of the fun, separated from his friends, forced to oppose them…
