The Second Candle

Today is the first Sunday of December at the same time, second Sunday of Advent. Back home, whenever advent comes, I used to make my own Advent tree. I’d buy these 4 big candles and put it in wreathe and have it blessed at church. This is my own way of preparing for Christmas. 

Today’s mass celebration reminded of that feeling; Knowing that Christmas is something more than superficial preparations. Those candles are special because it holds a meaning for each one you lighted. And as for today’s, it PEACE. 

Something i haven’t had for awhile now. It’s a chaotic situation I’m in at the moment, But that actually doesn’t bother me as much as the thought and feeling of being so lost at the moment.  That the most important relationship I have is on the rocks-- with my Jesus. I’m shaken and so is my faith.

Cool Change

I have this habit of using a song title as subject and title of my writing. Just like this one. Well, maybe it’s because with just few words and lines, it says it all. It clearly expresses those things and feelings I am unable to put into words myself. Listening to these kind of songs sometimes kills you to sadness; but overtime, after all the tears have washed away those not-so-friendly feelings that clouds up your mind and heart; as you closely listen to the words, it’s got some message of inspiration for you too. 

Anyway, time for a cool change huh?! not maybe but surely! That’s what God’s message is. It was a message relayed to me the painful and hard way; Maybe because stubborn child of Him (like me) can’t listen and heed to gentle reminders and warnings He’s been giving. 

Not much regret though, except for the times I know I have caused hurt more than smile to my Dearest God by not listening to Him; by frequently taking Him for granted over my worldly and selfish wants; By the things I’ve done and haven’t done; Despite all these, God has been so merciful and loving all those times. He still provided for me and still protected me every step of the way. He even sent me an angel; He let me experienced a beautiful friendship which I thought is the best I ever had. It’s the kind I have always wanted, no secrets, no judgements, no feigning and pretensions; We may have gone beyond boundary at times but God’s mercy have always kept us back to track and reigns the relationship we have. The span of time we’ve been together may not be considered long but I consider it true and very special. We’ve been there to support and encourage one another; have laughed and cried together; have made and resolved problems together; argued and forgave each other; and mostly we cared and loved one another..

But, as they say, some good things just never last.. 

Some other more important things just have to be prioritized; And there’s just nothing you can do but to compromise no matter how much it’s gonna hurt. Just the thought of you being hang as to what’s next; when you are so aware that over time, things will surely change as it’s not within your control; when you have to suddenly stop being and doing things you used to happily do together.. It is heartbreaking. But, you have no other choice as the situation calls for it. You always have to compromise because you understand. And because you just care too much.. And because you know you cant be really happy knowing that someone else os hurting because of you.. Given all these things, it is really crazy that this has to happen. Being on that side where you always have to be the one to understand.. where as much as you wanna shout like ‘Hey, can i too be understood?’.. You cannot.. You shouldn’t and you wouldn’t because you know it won’t change anything anyway. You’ll just hurt them too. You better be the only one hurt than all of you. Because you understand.. So now, you have to start over. Get a life. And keep in mind that you are not alone! You never were and you never will be. Whatever changes that may happen to you, know that it’s always going to be a Cool one as the most wonderful and indeed the best friend you can ever have is always with you; Caring and believing and loving you unconditionally!

To get your target; you have to aim for it and you have to keep your focus; pull back and let go of the arrow. More often than not, you don't get it right the first time. You have to do it over again until you get so used to it. For each strike, you'll realize what you could've done better and so you'd love to try again and you'll know how to do it better next time around. As you keep trying, you wont realize how much progress you've and how much you are enjoying it as you get closer to your target. Then taking back your arrows; at a closer look, you'll see those holes of your missed strikes. There were a lot!
