âWell, I canât be blamed for that,â Aponi replied teasingly, unable to resist. âMy dad always said that I was as sturdy as a tree.â Leaning forward a bit, she did the best she could to shuffle the papers carefully into Fitzâs had, but found it a bit difficult with her non-dominant hand. Luckily, nothing spilled or got mussed in the quick transfer, and once they were both standing up and settled, she was free to give her friend and his rather fair question her undivided attention. âOh, you know me,â she started with a smile as she flipped her sketchpad and recent creation around to show him as a point of reference. âI was checking over some details and got a lost in thought. In my defense, though, this is the first ever crash Iâve had! That has to count for something, right?â Â
âWell, sure, it could count for something if I knew how long you had been walking this way. I mean, if you just started and you already got into a crash, then Iâm not sure youâre the best at it.â Fitz teased as he accepted all his papers, not really bothering to get them back in order just yet. He could do that later when he actually had a moment to lay them all out and have time to organize them once again. For now, all that really mattered was that he had all of them again. âAre those thoughts you were lost in open to the public or are they more private Aponi thoughts?â
