Poppy Field (2021)
1h 21m | Romania
6.5 / 10 (IMDb)
"Poppy Field" follows the struggle of a young Romanian gendarme, Cristi, who tries to find the balance between two apparently opposing parts of his identity: that of a man working in a macho hierarchical environment and that of a closeted gay person who tries to keep his personal life a secret.
Honestly, the only good thing I've seen from this film is only the French guy's butts. Nothing else. (It's not that bad, but the phase is too slow hmm)
Finally watching young royals, and left heart broken by the ending. But, can you imagine how iconic if there's a gay king? Damn!
Ngl, I need more of this two. End of discussion.

1h 38m | Switzerland
Talented swimmer, motivated apprentice : Beyto is in the midst of life, with a bright future ahead of him.But when the only son of a Turkish migrant family falls in love with his coach Mike, an ideal world falls to pieces.
I love this one. Different culture is so interesting to watch. Both the actors are hot, but so does the actress. I fckin' love Seher, she's just too precious to be hurt smh.
Look at her, she's trying so hard. I am SOFT for her.
I mean..... Look, unbothered queen.
I stan!
Cola de Mono / Monkey Tail (2018)
1h 42m | Republic of Chile
It's Christmas Eve, 1986, and Borja is a precocious teenager with a passion for film, among other things. As his extended family comes together to celebrate the holiday, the combined forces of the suffocating Chilean heat, free-flowing drinks, and repressed desire contribute to the eruption of long-held secrets. This hypnotic story from Chile is both an enticing family melodrama and an explicit erotic thriller about the ways that passion and desire control our lives - from our pop-culture tastes to our sexual fantasies.
Tbh, I'm not vibing with this one. The only thing that kept me watching was lots of fine men with gorg body-ody-ody lol.
Los Fuertes / The Strong Ones (2019)
1h 38m | Republic of Chile
Lucas travels to visit his sister who lives in Niebla, a remote town in southern Chile. Beside the ocean shrouded in the wintry mist, he meets Antonio who works as a boatswain in a local fishing boat. An intense romance blossoms between the two of them, and with it their strength, their independence and their adulthood become immovable with the ebb and flow of the tide.
I loveee the color palette of this film (yes I love some blue). Also, the film itself it's just..... *chef's kiss*
Not to be dramatic, but I need more. The end lol.
I saw this long time ago, but I'm lazy af so it took me some time to make an update.
I wish all closeted LGBTQ+ people a very happy pride month.
Thua Me Con Di / Goodbye Mother (2019)
1h 46m | Vietnam
Van, the heir of a Vietnamese clan, returns home from the US the first time in 9 years for the move of his father's tomb. The whole family is surprised upon finding him going with a young Vietnamese American named Ian. No one knows Ian is Van's boyfriend and they plan to come out to Van's widowed mother Mrs. Hanh, who expects him to get married and have kids to fulfill the heir's duties. To top it all, his grandmother, who has senile dementia, mistakes Ian for her grandson. While struggling to find the perfect occasion to come out, Van finds out instead that Mrs. Hanh is seriously ill.
I discovered it through my watchlist on IMDb acc, the synopsis just... teased me sfm lol. I love this movie, it's just so much fun bcs it shows me that Vietnam has the potential for making great gay films. Somebody needs to take a note for now. Need more like this, so heartwarming at the same time. Also, the grandma is a bean! Love her.
Un Rubio / The Blond One (2019)
1h 48m | Argentina
In the suburbs of Buenos Aires, Gabriel has just moved in with his colleague, Juan. Shy and reserved, Gabo is reluctant to follow Juan's wandering hands and meaningful looks. With a revolving door of beauties streaming out of Juan's bedroom, his machismo seems firmly in place. However, the attraction between the two men is undeniable. What starts out as a sexual relationship based on convenience of location, soon develops into the engrossing evolution of a tender and intimate relationship, which is as sweet as it is heartbreaking.
I decided to post something to celebrate pride month. Honestly, this one gives me intimate vibes. Kinda into but... mixed feelings. Nvm, give it a try bcs it's not that bad lol.

“It was River Phoenix who wanted his character to be gay, or to be in love with Keanu’s character. Originally the characters were both straight. River wanted there to be this affection, this love, and to have his character tell Keanu that he loved him. [smiles] Maybe he wanted to tell Keanu that…" - Gus Van Sant
