In the 1980’s, with, in the opinion of many, no small amount of help from the Reagan Administration, there was a structural break in US agriculture as small, family farms went bankrupt and were consolidated into large, corporate farms.
The first Farm Aid concert was in 1985, organized by Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Cougar Mellencamp, and is the year this album was released.

Sent postcards to all my grandkids, including the one that was with me, each day of vacation except one.
My oldest grandchild, almost four, loves getting mail. He also loves maps after I gave him a US Interstate map. He keeps it in his room. He was the only one in his day care class that had seen a paper map, let alone owned one. I have also showed him newspapers and we looked at the sports pictures and the comics.
My grandson likes to watch the gps in the car and have video calls but he seems to like some of the old ways better.
The other two are too young to understand the postcards yet but will have them for when they do.
