If you would like to make a pizza like the one in this video, this is how: You’ll need: 1 ½ cups warm water 6 ½ tbsp salted butter melted and cooled 2 ½ light brown sugar .32 oz of instant yeast 1 tbs salt 4 ½ cups of flour 1 tbs veritable oil
I use this to make the crust, the same ingredients I use for making pretzels.
Next to the toppings: 1 jar of some kind of pizza sauce Pepperoni (Gallo is pretty good) A large bag of mozzarella cheese fine graded A small bag of Mexican 4 cheese fine graded
Begin with pouring the pack of yeast into a large bowl along with the warm water, melted butter, and sugar. Lightly stir till it is thoroughly mixed. Let it rest for 5 minutes for the yeast to activate. The yeast will form a cloud texture on top, covering about 30 percent of the surface when it’s ready.
Next, add in the salt. Start pouring in 1 cup of flour into the mix gradually. Mix it thoroughly with a large spoon or another utensil. Add the rest of the flour in groups. Continue to mix till the dough begins to pull away from the bowl.
Place the dough onto a lightly powdered flat surface (a table, cutting board, whatever works.) Knead the dough by stretching and folding it repeatedly, adding flour if it feels too wet. It is supposed to be a bit sticky in the end, so try not to over four.
Next, you will need another large bowl. Pour 1tbsp of vegetable oil and spread it on the inside of the bowl with a napkin. Roll the dough into a ball and place it in the center of the oiled bowl. Place a towel over it to protect it from bacteria, and let it rest to rise for 1 hour.
I would begin the next step by positioning the two oven trays in the center of the oven and then preheating your oven to 400. The dough should have grown around 30 percent. Tear the dough into two halves. Prepare two pizza pans layered with either parchment paper or tin foil sprayed with olive oil. Use a rolling pin to flatten one of the dough chunks into a circle. Flaten the dough to around a quarter of an inch or to when the dough fills the surface of the pizza pan. Fold the edges over to create a crust (use a fork to press the edge into the dough beneath. Use a fork to stab the flattened dough around 40 to 50 times evenly (this is to avoid the dough from forming a pocket of air.) Use a basting brush to layer the melted butter onto the crust. Repeat this process for the other dough chunk.
After the dough is prepared, you will pre-cook the dough without the toppings for 6 minutes. Remove the dough and spread the pizza sauce evenly through the pizza (try not to over sauce.) Cover the sauce with mozzarella cheese and sprinkle a good amount of Mexican 4 cheese on top. Lay 3 pepperonis in the center, place more between each pepperoni till you reach the crust. You can reposition them to your liking. Make Egg wash: 1 egg, 1tbs salt, 1tbs water. Lather the egg wash with your brush onto the pizza crust.
Put the pizzas back into the oven for 20 minutes, checking on it halfway. The crust should b golden brown. If you lift the pizza to look underneath, it should be a light golden brown similar to the side crust. Let the pizzas sit for a couple of minutes, then cut it into a plus with your pizza cutter. Then cut evenly through the gaps in the plus in two spots to create eight slices.
Your friends or family will gravitize to this creation.
