📍Great Sugar Loaf Mountain, Co.Wicklow

Set apart from the Wicklow Mountains⛰, its conical shape and broody demeanour make an instant impression. It's barely 501 metres tall, but this plucky hill is one of Ireland's most iconic peaks.

The Sugar Loaf may have the appearance of an extinct volcano; it is in contrast to the granite mountains to the south and west, a quartzite hill.

On a clear day you can see not only Dublin City and the Wicklow Mountains, but Snowdonia in Wales. It's hugely popular outing for Dublin day trippers. If you're reasonably fit and don't mind a bit of scrambling on the rocky final stretch, you can be up and back from the summit in little over an hour🏃‍♀️.

📍 West Cork Whale Watching Trips

When it comes to unique wildlife encounters there are few things as breath-taking and humbling as coming face to face with the world's largest creatures. Whale watching is one of those activities that comes close to the top of every “100 things to do before you die” bucket list ever compiled.

West Cork, on the Irish south coast attracts mink whales, fin whales, and humpback whales to feed in its rich waters every year. A short drive or a cheap flight will get you to County Cork, and our purpose-built whale watching vessel, the Holly Jo provides the ideal platform for that once in-a-lifetime experience.

📍 Powerscourt Estate, Bray, County Wicklow 

Enjoy a coffee to go or a bite to eat at the Powerscourt Avoca Café. Pick up a map to follow the trail along the magnificent 47-acre gardens. In this weeks post i will include a brief description of each photo, maybe it will inspire you to go visit the beautiful Powerscourt Estate and Gardens.

The second photo shows The Pepperpot Tower 

When you stroll beyond the Japanese Gardens, you will come upon Tower Valley surrounded by stunning variety of trees. Here you will find the Pepperpot Tower which was modelled on a Pepperpot from Lord Powerscourt’s dining table! It is from this that Tower Valley received its distinctive name. Climb the tower’s winding steps and enjoy the views of Powerscourt House and Gardens. Why not stop for a photo beside the many cannons surrounding the tower!

The last photo is of the Triton Lake.

 One of the most striking features of the Italian Gardens is the pair of life-sized Winged Horses which watch over the lake. They form part of the family coat of arms and were made by Professor Hugo Hagen in Berlin in 1869. The fountain in this dramatic Lake is based on the fountain in the Piazza Barberini in Rome and completes the splendid vista from the house down to the lake.

The second location I would recommend as a picturesque day getaway, is Powerscourt Waterfall and Gardens. 

The video shows a quick overview of the scenic spot which will bring you back to nature. This spot is perfect for picnics or a hot cup of coffee in one of there cafes.

Our first location is the small seaside village of Howth. 

If you’re looking for a scenic hike along the coastline of Ireland this is the spot for you. It is also one of Dublin’s oldest working harbour fresh seafood is delivered daily, providing fresh produce to local restaurants, markets, and shops.
