Hi everyone, it’s been a while!
I’ve recently found myself falling back in love with my first fandom and my first ship: Harry Potter and Jily. Four years after I went on a hiatus and never came back, I want to let you all know that I’ve moved to a new blog where Jily content will be one of the things I post. When Remus meets Harry on the Hogwarts Express, looking so much like James, he doesn’t know what to say. He doesn’t know what to say and so he says nothing. Instead he remembers the little baby whose face would light up at the sound of his voice. He remembers Lily laughing ‘Remus you are not going to drop him’ and James hovering saying ‘Moony do not drop him he’s so tiny’. He remembers bouncing him on his knee while Lily made tea in the cosy kitchen at Godric’s Hollow. He remembers calling Marlene who apparated straight over because ‘thank fuck you’re here Marl I said I’d babysit and I can’t get the clean nappy back on and - oh Merlin that’s the second time he’s peed on the sofa.’ He remembers an odd lullaby duet with James because ‘Moony I don’t know why but one person doesn’t cut it. Two people need to sing it and I haven’t slept in over twenty four hours so help me merlin you are going to sing with me’
He remembers James coaching ‘say uncle Remus’ and Harry eventually pointing at Remus saying 'un-ca!’ He never got hang of the Remus part before Uncle Remus was suddenly no longer a part of his life.
Remus says nothing.

Quick question for you all: would you say that the Jily fandom is more active on ff.net or ao3? I haven't been reading Jily for a while and I know that most of my other fandoms drifted to ao3. Let me know!
I wonder if JK Rowling knows now what she instigated when she wrote the phrase “All right, Evans?”
It amazes me how one small, insignificant piece of dialogue spoken by James Potter to Lily Evans in a pathetic attempt at flirting has spawned so many URLs, blog titles, etc. across multiple fandoms.
Indian/Hindu James Potter headcanons
• The Potters gave James his very boring, British name because they were worried he’d be teased if they gave him an Indian name • James worked hard to be good at quidditch, mostly because he enjoyed it, but partly to defy the stereotypes that Indian people weren’t very good at it (what with the popularity of flying carpets in the Eastern hemisphere and the Indian team’s appalling performance in the World Cup) • The boys celebrate Diwali every year by decorating their dorm and the common room with hundreds of lanterns and after the first year the house elves help out, Mrs Potter always sends them all sweets and gifts • One year, James set off fireworks in the great hall at dinner, McGonagall made sure it didn’t happen again • As Holi always falls on the day of a full moon and Remus is too ill to take part, Sirius suggested bringing the powder paint with them to the shrieking shack and celebrating in their animagus forms •The powder always clumps in their fur and sticks to the damp walls of the shack, making it actually quite a cheery place in other circumstances • As James is bilingual in Hindi and English, he will not only swear or insult people in Hindi, but also makes most exclamations of excitement or affection in his mother tongue too • Lily thinks this is extremely cool, James starts speaking in Hindi more often •James is also a vegetarian Hindu and greatly missed his dad’s Mughlai cooking when confronted with the somewhat limited and flavourless vegetarian options at Hogwarts • That is until Peter had a word with the kitchen elves and brilliant Delhi dishes like vegetable biryani and mattar paneer started appearing on the Gryffindor table

Without question the best part of fics that pair enemies who fall in love is the immense feeling of superiority you get as a reader.
Like those first moments where they begin to develop a fondness for the other like ‘But of course, I’d never admit that to them’ and ‘But I’d never tell them that’
And you just sit there grinning, rubbing your hands in glee like ‘Yes you wi-ill’
I think that whatever side of ‘The Great Snape Debate’ you’re on, one thing we can all agree on is that Alan Rickman played the role absolutely brilliantly, as he did with every role he played. What a sad day.
