@taeyongskookie tagged me, thank you! First time I do a tag like this.

I also wanted to say in this post that I will probably be deleting this account/blog or not using it much. This is my main blog and @itsakpopparty is my side blog. However I just that way more so I really wanted it to be a main blog and because I am still fairly new to tumblr I wanted to change that now. So I made a new account @itsasoftkpopparty and transferred all my posts to it. Can we just talk about in how many ways this song just is utterly beautiful? G-Dragons’ raw but soft voice that start of the first lines of the song and end the lines in a sigh. The feelings he put in his fragile voice and that can still be felt when he starts the chorus in a voice that is way stronger. The melody of the chorus is so beautiful, I could never get sick of it. It feels really fresh and unique, it is a melody full of longing and vulnerability but at the same time conviction and liveliness. As if his feelings overwhelm him and he feels everything at once and it makes him so alive but at the same time it hurts. I think this is especially felt in the ‘uri idaero’ halfway in the song. I love how his voice is kind of husky in the lines following that, it really conveys some of that raw longing and of course the sound is just fantastic.

Coming back to the melody, I think part of the freshness, uniqueness of the rhythm and melody come from the fact that the language of the song is Korean. I often feel that because of the consonant structure and sounds of the language, songs and melodies can be rhythmical in a way that would not be able in English. The song really makes me want to be able to speak Korean. It is one of the songs in which the language sounds the most beautiful to me, and when I read the translation I just wish I would be able to understand the song in the depths of it's own language. I haven't even talked about the music video which I adore in it's mesmerizing simplicity. But this is getting long so I will put an end to this post. I really hope Jiyong, G-Dragon, will be happy in his time in the army and out of the spotlight. I wish I would have known him longer before he went away for the coming years. But he’ll be back <3

I love THANKS so much, and to be honest, a lot of that love is because of the choreography. I was completely overwhelmed by the choreo when I first saw it and it only seems to get better every time I watch it. And honestly, I think I have been watching it at least once every single day since the choreography video came out.

The song is also really good. It feels quite different from the other seventeen songs but nicely fits in with for example ‘don't wanna cry’ I think? I like how the lead vocals have a lot of parts again. All of seventeen is really talented but I love especially Seungkwans vocals. I am on the whole more into vocals than rap so that is one of the reasons. The raps however in THANKS are so good! They are very upbeat and they hype me up so much! 

The meaning of the song is of course really sweet. I love how they incorporated this in the choreo with the symbolism. How they corporated it in the hand movements and the focus on their seventeen rings. I also read that the part in which they tap their arms is sign language for ‘thanks’. This made me really happy. That part was Always the least favourite part of the choreo because it seemed less coordinated than the rest, it didn't really fit in according to my feeling of the choreo. But now I now that it is sign language I love that part a lot.

Well this was more a rant about choreography than music, but in this case I just LOVE the choreo so much, it really makes the song
