Not what this page is about but needed to make this list as i just finished watching Dexter *spoilers?*

What i wanted in the Dexter finale but didn’t get:

(Loved the last season but disappointing finale)

-Dexter and Deb living happily every after (not together but together)

-Hannah to be arrested or removed somehow (leading to the first point)

-Dexter telling Deb he chose her over his biological brother

-Dexter telling Deb he killed the Ice Truck Killer

-Wanted the fall (if there had to be any) to be about Dexter getting exposed, didn’t want anyone to die, but if anyone had do, for Dexter to finally die and have his monster “put down”

-definitely did not want anything bad to happen to Deb -_-

Also wanted someone to be like “maybe we diagnosed you with psychopathy quick”, which i’m now feeling would be similar to Dumbledore telling Snape “maybe we sort early”

Interestingly, he's only described as greasy in Harry's point of view/by students who don't like him. He isn't described negatively in the Spinner's End chapter.

There’s a headcanon that Voldemort actually liked Snape so much that he was unwilling/unable to kill Snape himself so he had Nagini do it for him.

“Snape. Now. I need him. There is a — service — I require from him. Go.”

Frightened, stumbling a little through the gloom, Lucius left the room. Voldemort continued to stand there, twirling the wand between his fingers, staring at it.

“It is the only way, Nagini,” he whispered.

He tries to rationalize it to his pet like he’s trying to convince himself. He whispers all resigned and morose.

“I regret it,” said Voldemort coldly.

When has Voldemort ever regretted killing anyone? The fact he even said that speaks volumes lmao. He said it “coldly” as if trying to distance himself from what he’s done, and not care. But he still needs to let Snape know he’s sorry it had to end this way.

Meanwhile Snape’s bleeding out on the floor like, “gee thanks that means a lot! 🤡”

it just seems like a random-ass thing to say esp by voldemort whom we’ve spent 7 books hating. but if you think about it a bit more, the battle is the only other time harry sees voldemort being ‘normal’ aka not engaged in a fight with him (the other time is his dream of voldy with crouch jr and harry wasn’t physically there, and that was also a time when none of them was sure of voldy’s existence so it kinda doesn’t count). this time, voldemort’s attention is on someone else, and this time, it’s also someone else that harry knows intimately. it’s his teacher, sworn archenemy, someone he’s spent a greater part of 7 years pouring his own emotions and attentions to, if only to hate him.

i regret it.

is there then a semblance of truth to all those fanfics and headcanons that voldemort did favor severus somehow, above all his other death eaters, that he was able, in that moment, to do something that was almost human? to stop and look at what he had done and to make a statement before moving on? we know he can be passionate (all those pages describing how he shrieks and wails in anger, etc), so to do something so out of character and yet in a cold tone almost makes me think he was occluding, i.e. distancing himself as snumblesaurus mentioned. it’s just such a weird moment and i don’t know who was supposed to benefit from it except voldemort himself.
