Asking for help

I normally make it a point not to do this kind of thing, but...here it goes...

This is our new family, happily home after three weeks in the hospital...

And this is our son, a few hours after surgery.

Will was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a heart condition that has a 95% mortality rate by 40 years of age, if left untreated.

This is me with him in the NICU, his first stop outside of Mommy’s tummy:

I love this little guy more than anything. I have always wanted a child of my own.

But I also grew up very poor - in a trailer across the street from a meth lab. I always promised myself that my kids would never come close to that kind of life.

I have a lot to be thankful for right now. Still, my family has fallen on hard times. I’ve had trouble maintaining steady employment most of my life, due to issues with my largely untreated ADHD and PTSD.

All I want to do is give this little guy, and any other children I have in the future, a chance at a life that’s better than the one I had. And I may have found my shot:

We have three invention ideas that have been greenlighted for prototyping and market feasibility testing by a large patenting firm, For Sale By Inventor. The agent has stressed the importance of keeping the details private, but we will share as much as we are able at this time.

Being new parents is tough as it is. With a baby that needs extra care, there are even more tasks to juggle. Two of the invention ideas concern making two tasks into one, so baby gets more attention, like it should be.

The third invention involves helping carpal tunnel patients, a malady that people on both sides of our family suffer from.

Ultimately, we could be looking at up to $45K in patenting fees. However,we are currently only shooting for $3,000. This small amount will serve to get us past the first tier, and give us the information we need to attract real investors.
